めちゃ懐かしい。 Excellent vid, Tony. It does quite bring back fond memories of when as kids we used to go across the border into Canada for Arthur Treacher's fish and chips. Treacher's was battered and deep fried and so maybe not London-authentic, but it was soo~ good. Tartar sauce for the fish and malt vinegar for the chips was how we had them. But gosh, now I can't get the Beatles or the Yardbirds or the Rolling Stones out of my mind. I'll have 19th Nervous Breakdown or 8 Days a Week or Rain or the like in my mind all day. But that's totally OK with me.

It’s almost midnight here now. I am regretting watching this episode now. My mouth is watering. Especially when you blend that ketchup with chips, i could almost imagine that flavor that sour flavor! I want to eat that!

Tony's British English noted, I will definitely go to uk one day. Thanks for you advice 😄
Your video reminded me of the moment that I ate fish and chips for the first time in Auckland, New Zealand. Since the restaurant was in the bay area, I couldn't have it with a cuppa tea, with fish smell instead :)

i have never had fish’n’chippies neither at a restaurant, nor at a pub, lol. always takeaway shops. at those kind of shops, they usually ask whether we need salt and/or vinegar. once a friend of mine came to the uk, and we we went to a shop. as always, the shop person asked whether he needs salt and/or vinegar. yes he answered in the correct way, but he made one big mistake. it was his first trip abroad, and wished to make himself clear. so he spoke very slowly to the shop person. he said ‘YES, SALT. AND “A LOT OF VINEGAR”, PLEASE!’. you would know what would happened next. the shop person poured tons of vinegar to the meal, till the wrap paper soaks.
I'm so enjoy this!!! If possible,I would like to know your history!!

ホント、イギリス英語とアメリカ英語はこんなに違うものなのだというのがよくわかる動画ですね。とても勉強になります。そしてとても面白い。トニーさんに感謝します。 Really, it is a movie that you can see well that British English and American English are so different. I will study a lot. And it is very interesting. I appreciate Tony. これ、googleで自動翻訳したものなんだけど、正しいかな? This is an automated translation by google, is it right?

One suggestion. You must have paid tip. It would have been a nice opportunity to pronounce the words chip and tip because many Japanese often mix up these words.
@tonysbritishenglish5827

We don't tip in pubs in England. Only in posh bars do we have to tip
Yes on the chips. Salt and vinegar on chips is traditional. You can have the same all over the UK but I'm not British anymore. I was but now I'm English both ethnically and politically.
Americans don't understand us and they need subtitles to 'get' films. I love them though but they are very very different from us. Tony

@@tonysbritishenglish5827 Not necessary to have the telops on your type English movies in U.S. We can understand your English. Actually we don't have telops for those. But I wonder why you guys come from U.K. look down us, because how we speak in U.S. Especially when we have some kind of different accents in American English, it always becomes a tragedy. Long long time ago, the language has come from Tahiti to Hawai'i, it has changed a lot since then, but we never think which is better like you guys do.

What's the difference between 'chips' and 'french fries'?
@tonysbritishenglish5827

Easy: chips are British and fries are American. Also chips are generally much thicker than fries and you can eat them on their own hence 'A bag of chips' (yummy, especially coming back from the pub on a cold night)
