Relaxing after the hottest weekend of the year camping trip and unloading my BMX of the stuff I didn't use. Straight into the fridge and still in prime condition, including an almost full bag of ice! For less than fifty bucks I turned my 25 into something that outperforms YETI in every major category and a few you probably haven't even thought of. I wouldn't trade it for TWO of them. Make that TEN of them if they had to be Baby Blue! Mine is OG and desert sand with orange hold downs. Same as my 'Eureka' tent and 'SAIL', soft coolers. Added an airtight gasket, rubber feet, a little 'Reflectix' insulation, nylon strap/handles crisscrossing the lid through the corner eyes holding down a removable closed-cell foam cushion, a custom cutting board in the rectangular recess next to the ruler on the lid and I now have the World's Best Cooler for 1/3 the price of a YEKI. It already had all the basics, just needed some detailing. I actually REALLY like just looking at it. Available everywhere on-line.

I just bought one of these, but a step down in size, the 52 qt. (They offer a 25 qt. BMX even!) for 90$ at target, white though, I didn't know there was greens!! Put 10 lbs of ice in it with a 6 pack and a steak, which is not enough, the 52 qt. will hold at least 2 ice bags with food/drinks. About half the ice melted after 24 hours. Pretty sure most of the heat leakage in coolers is due to air leaking around the lid seal (just an assumtion) though that drain plug probably isn't a great insulator. I got back to town and put a 5$ silicone weather seal strip from home depot in the groove on the lid of the igloo, it fit perfectly, you can't do that if the lid just slips into the base, I assume igloo left the gasket off because a physically "locked" cooler with a gasket will blow up if you put dry ice in and then they have to warantee the cooler. With the weather strip the rubber straps seal the lid tighter, they don't seem to seal very tight without the seal (almost effortless to latch it shut). I also assume coolers are all just styrofoam wrapped in plastic, styrofoam is an excellent insulator even at 1/8" like on drink cups, so I'm hoping that's how this is constructed though I've read some reviews of people saying it was doubtful. I assume the cost of the yeti is in large part to do with the roto molding, seems to make a cleaner look than the injection molding of the igloo but push pin blemishes aren't a deal breaker for me. But you won't win any pissing contests with injection molding ejection pin blemishes.
@GReviewz

Tim Reyes wow this may be the longest comment I ever have gotten. Let me ask you this on your 52 qt were you able to find a weather stripping that fit your cooler lid? Did it work? I have heard some people say it’s not the lack of a seal on these units but a hollow lid itself. A guy I talked to said he just drilled a couple hold in the u derided of the lid and filled the inside of the lid itself with insulating foam and got almost an extra day of ice retention.

i just bought the 52! Had it outside for 4 days in 80+ degrees/under my gazeebo with a 24 pack of miller and it will hold 30 almost 40 pounds of ice with a 24 pack of beer! IT was still mostly ice lol if you put only 1/4 of possbile ice in any cooler your ice retension will be crap there will be more air in the cooler to melt your ice faster. if you need to only hold a 6 pack and one measly steak buy a cheap purse and fill it with ice should keep it cold enough for you and you may look cute carrying it around.

Thanks for watching. Yes yeti is number 1 however a lot of people don’t need to spend that much $$ when they just need a cooler to hold ice for a day..

@@GReviewz 0 through 10min. I could hear you, just thought the music was too loud and distracting. I'm not a sub so if your viewers don't mind I'd just keep doing what you're doing. You have a good voice though. And it as intro music is top notch.

I appreciate the reply some people just say you video sucks and don’t give a reason why. Thank for your feedback. Only a handful of my reviews have music in the background as I talk. We try new things every now and again. We have many other videos of you want to check out our channel. I understand if you don’t want to sub.

I seriously was looking at that cooler. In a world all alone it would be an awesome cooler. I’m pretty sure if you drug this spaceship onto the beach people would be rolling in the sand. Has everything even a table with cup holders. The thing is just huge and heavy. The lid doesn’t even have any latches to keep it closed.

Thanks for watching. Yeah I looked at the imx. A great cooler. It is a bit heavier. $50 more for 2 qts less. I mean the imx beats my cooler in every way. Please consider subscribing.

@@GReviewz thank you. I was looking for a cooler for fathers day gift. I went with the IMX 70 but was worried I got the wrong thing. I was considering an Orca or a Rtic . This video has made me feel better about my choice. Thank for your time

Anjanette Mercer thank for watching. Any cooler you buy these says is way better than coolers 10 years ago. Tech has come along way. The imx is great. I love my cooler. It’s not going to win any ice longevity awards but since it’s a lot lighter than most and will keep ice for a weekend it was a no brained for me.

Why does everyone try to bash yeti they are the best
@GReviewz

Q Balls Adventures thanks for watching. Yeti is a really good cooler don’t get me wrong I own the tundra 35 in the video. The reason being is yeti is the benchmark that most people compare to. And a lot of hate goes at them due to their price point. After all this time with tons of rotomolded coolers on the market and rtic coolers literally 98% exactly what a yeti is for half the price that is why yeti gets a lot of hate.

@@qballsadventures4952 done plenty of desert camping in triple digits. Other reasons for hate is China and anti guns and hunting. I own yeti bottle and mugs. The bottles are best sealing ive seen. My buddy own yeti coolers and soft bag. They are quality no doubt. But I’ve seen ice retention tests in Florida on you tube where they did not win vs other roto coolers, but they did perform well. I’m no brand fan boy on any particular brand. If I owned a bunch of yeti coolers I wouldn’t be changing to other brands. The differences are small in most tests. .

maz8869 no problem it’s not a bad cooler for the money. In the video I really did not load enough ice into the cooler I put do much stuff on there. The ice would have lasted longer.
