When the French Horn player assumes solo phrases, his tone becomes so sweet and “round”....”full” doesn’t describe the really beautiful tone he achieves! I like that he then pulls back a bit to blend in with the orchestra when his solo line ends, really lovely, sensitive playing!

Pleyel was the Star-pupil of Josef Haydn in the 1780s prior to Beethoven’s arrival in Vienna in 1792 and was much-admired by Mozart who often said he was a wonderful credit to his famous teacher and great friend

The star pupil of Haydn! That explains why I've recently come across his work and fell in love with them.

@migves540 : Very tasteful ... or tasty ... or both. But are there really European "turkeys"? Perhaps it was sent from New Amsterdam? - -
