"engine swap" .. "pretty straight forward" !! I wish I had your knowledge and skills. I just did a radiator swap on a B-414 and found it challenging ! Thanks for your videos, I am learning a lot.

The first time was definitely challenging, each job after gets easier. Good on you for tackling the challenge and over coming, the next thing you tackle won't be as intimidating or difficult. Thanks for watching!

Dave, reference the B414 engine cover. After you remove the two cover arm rods from the slots, the the hood lift off or are there bolts on the front to remove as well? In the video you appear to disconnect the arms and then lift the cover off?
@CanadianRedneck15

There are 2 bolts that it pivots forward on, one in each front lower corner going from the center through the front casting into the hood. Thanks for watching!

What was the elapsed time for the swap? Also, you never mentioned what was wrong with the original engine and what is the plan for the original engine. Good video and thanks for sharing!

I don't remember exactly, but as I recall the engine change took about 6-8 hours. The old engine was worn out and needed rebuilt but was cheaper to replace with a used engine. The old engine we took in exchange on the replacement and stripped it out for parts.

I have a question cr i have a 464 ih when i engage my pto everything turns as it should but when i push clutch in pto still turns with my tiller attached it will actually push u forward but when i pull the pto lever to off it stops i figured this tractor would have a 2 stage clutch
@CanadianRedneck15
Жыл бұрын
A 464 has an independent PTO controlled only by the PTO lever that engages/disengages a hydraulic clutch pack that drives the PTO shaft. It is independent of the clutch. Thanks for watching!

The British Internationals like the 414, are they well made? i am interested in buying one and it is in very good condition. I however am concerned that they may not be well made.

They are well made solid tractors, in my opinion the best in their HP class. Sturdy enough to mount a loader and heavy enough to do some real work. We have a 384 with a loader that has well in excess of 12000 hours on it. It has had the engine rebuilt once around 9000 hours because the cam broke, has had one clutch replacement, brake seals and a couple of spindles. Considering this tractor averaged 300 cords of wood per year plus a lot of farm work I'd say that is a very minimal amount of repair. Thanks for watching!

Good day again. Was wondering if you can tell me how to remove the hydraulic pump filter. I thought I seen it on one of your videos but not sure where. Not sure if it spins out or there is a hidden bolt to remove. Thanks
@CanadianRedneck15

It just pushes in and an o-ring holds it in place. Remove the rubber hose and pull the filter straight out the front.

The tractor in the back ground is a Mahindra, a 7520 if memory serves, about 70-80 HP. It seems like a solid tractor as the owner could break an anvil! Thanks for watching!
