@mary allen I use the 9000j on all my tracks cuz theyre 0 latency, but most compressors are gonna have latency if they're using built-in lookahead and the EQs probably have some lookahead as-well

@mary allen Ive literally never had any issues with running my computer in the internet and tracking or mixing, but I often hear a lot of engineers having to do all these different things to their computers for them to work. Not to call you out in particular but I think a lot of engineers aren’t very computer literate young and old alike. Like I run 500 plugins on my computer and I’ve never had any issues with any of them whether it be with ilok which I use the cloud version or any other authorization software

I tell you what T-racks is good for. If you need a lot of plugins for a few hundred bucks, this is it. These work great for mastering, which is what they are made for. And they are good for mixing. I have Waves and some others as well. I use Waves the most in my mix. And I use T-racks, Waves, and Slate on all my masters.The IK Pultec sounds almost exactly like my real Pultec.

Paul Wills i can't figure out when a compressor Re triggers. Does it go through its motion fully every time it triggers? And then disengage? Or is it constantly retriggering it's effect when the level goes above the threshold even if it's already compressing? Lol I don't expect an explanation but that's my thing that I don't understand. Cheers.
@messiahmason
5 жыл бұрын
@@MrSuganutz a compressor is trigger by the set attack and is disengaged by the release. Some compressors, such as a LA2A, are wired to have slower attacks to have a smoother application where as in many compressors like a tube tech and 1176, you can change the attack and release. Think, threshold is when will the compressor be engaged, attack is how fast it will engage, release is when how quickly it releases. Also, slower attacks allow the beginning transients through and faster attacks squash the initial signal coming through

After I bought Total Studio Max I didnt know what T-Racks was for. Then I learned that it is a mastering processor. Then I learned that its NOT a mastering processor, but everything I want in every channel and every chain. It is confusing at the beginning and the biggest barrier is not knowing what it is for. The answer is; its for EVERYTHING! Throw some T-Racks elements on to the track and start turning these knobs. Find a sound that make your ears horney and save it.

Ive ditched UAD spark, Waves and Slate for IK Multimedia T-Racks. Dont know how accurate the plugins are comoared to the hardware it emulates, but I find t-racks to be allot more colourful and flavoursome than even UAD when doing a shootout between the same plugins. Almost in every instance the T-Racks won in a shootout between the comoetition (except for the pulteq eq which inorefer UAD version). Cheaper as well. Dont understand why it isnso underrated? Maybe because the UI looks so cartoonish
