I do not kid you I tried like 15 times and they would not stay . I had a break down and started crying 😭 . I gave up and I’m sleep on the mattress only. Tomorrow I will go to Home Depot to get the pieces . Thank you thank you ☺️

Here in the UK the Maim bed comes with a choice of slats, the standard ones shown here, I don't know if the USA offers the same, the other ones, called "Lonset" is the ones I chose, let me explain them to you, they have two wood side rails per side with rubber sockets/cups that are colour coded that you fit the slats into, the slats are also colour coded because they make up different strength zone areas to help support your body better, it also has three wood cross bars that screw into the side rails making up a complete frame assembly for each side, that you just drop onto the metal side rails and the metal centre support beam, the whole system costs about £50 UK more than the standard set up, which may seem a little expensive and takes a bit more time to the build, but I can tell you when they are made up it's well worth the extra expense.

Here I thought you were going to add those brackets to every slat! Thought "that'll take forever and cost a bunch." Each end and once in the middle looks good. Another addition could be a strip of sticky, rubber type material between the metal and slats. PS I know you've "upgraded", but others haven't 😀

Used to think the same thing until I installed an Ikea kitchen for a friend several years ago. Though the style only works in certain situations, I was impressed with the ease of assembly verses the durability, and all around versatility. My friends kitchen will be 10 years old next year and the finish has held up extremely well. There are no sags in the boxes, hinges and soft-close doors and drawers still function as new. And though the cost was almost comparable to custom cabinets, it is designed to allow not so handy (homeowners), to assemble and install the system themselves. Plus, they offer some pretty handy, high end type accessories to dress the cabinets and drawers like luxury custom cabinets.

@@NewYorkNadia It is true, I sometimes take what I learned from an old world for granted. With lumber being up by 400% I have been pinched out of my own trade. I can't even make 10$ profit from just last year. You did a good job. Plus you don't have to deal with cutting your own cuts, having a workshop taking up a whole room just to do this stuff. I lost my workshop due to the price increase. Can no longer pay for the workshop, so had to bring it all into the garage. This stuff really burns me. What happens when you take everything away from a man and leave him with nothing to lose?

Hi Akeia! So we already had those corner brackets, but Home Depot has similar brackets available, such as the Everbilt Corner Brace. They come in different sizes, but I think the 1-1/2 in zinc coated corner brace might do the trick. The straight bracket that unites the slats in the center is the 2-hold flat straight bracket. Hope this helps!
@Crypticnight2290
