"Iku Ofo" literally means "hitting the staff of justice."
It is a ritual done in Igbo communities to invoke justice, equity, peace, and progress on a community in times when there's a high rate of disunity and crime. This is a strong element of Igbo culture. The custodians, elders and priests of a community lead such an event. Symbolically, they hit every negativity in their community with the staff, which stands for justice, purity, truth and uprightness.
