I truly love such vids, they help me escape these dark times quite a lot (lockdown, depression, such things)! Thanks! About speaking - while I'm a quiet person in general, this was mainly because we had to stay as quiet as possible during the whole trip because of security guards everywhere. I also hope that this whole situation will be over soon. I'm still getting "energy" from this trip even after 3 months, it was awesome! I really recommend to travel somewhere right now if you're allowed to and if the virus is not dangerous for your health condition. It's quite hard and more expensive to get somewhere, but there are no tourists anywhere - this may be the last chance to experience such thing... I can't wait to make another trip in spring. Anyway, wish you luck to make it through these times!

Thank you! We were on the official tour with my friends one year before this trip. Get a tour with power plant excursion and a night in the zone, it's worth it! If you're not used to walk long distances often, I can recommend you to walk 10 or more kilometers everyday for the last two weeks before the trip (that's exactly what I did, with all the equipment and additional 5kg weight in my backpack) - first you will "fieldtest" your shoes which is the most important part of your equipment and you will know better how will you feel during the trip. It's not that bad to be honest, I don't know why so many "stalkers" choose to surrender to the security guys instead of walking back... it's a nice trip and the way back is also interesting. And you will most likely lose some weight even on this trip - during the 14 days of "training" and the trip itself, I went from 89 to 86kg :D

That's a different one... it looks similar because it's the same type of building and the same room in it, but that Kreosan flat is not even in this building we stayed in. I exactly know what you're talking about, I enjoyed the walk so much! The problem is that most of the trip we walked at night with red light or no light at all and there is almost nothing visible on the camera. But yes, the atmosphere of those moments was breathtaking - unfortunately you have to be there to feel it... Sky full of stars, strange silence with even stranger noises here and there, approaching Pripyat and you can only see silhouettes of all those tall dead buildings... Many times on this trip I was like "wow, Stalker game was WAY more realistic than I thought when I played it" (without mutants and all that stuff of course :D), but you don't realize that on the official tour as you're driven everywhere in minibus during daylight and you have nothing to fear of.

Hello, I was there with guys from urbextour.com. We were on a little urbex excursion in Kyiv with them in 2019 with my friends and the guide was very trustworthy, so I chose them for this Chernobyl trip also and I was not disappointed at all. As a "tourist", I would never go to the zone without a guide, there is a lot of security patrols and you need to have at least a basic clue about which ways at what time they are using to avoid them... and even our guide with all the knowledge made some little "mistakes", mostly because he did not know about some new cameras. Another thing is that we did not carry all the food and stuff in our backpacks - they "smuggled" it into Pripyat so it was waiting there for us:). But there is so much more the guide did for us, for example in the video when we were chased by security with dogs, there is a cut at around 53:20 - I had to cut those last 20 seconds off so noone lose his job :D , but our guide loaded our whole group into the official tour minivan (he knew the driver and most likely paid him something) which was waiting there for some legal tourists and took us on the other side of Pripyat - that's how we escaped the security guards literally in front of their eyes there... so stylish :D. They would most likely caught us otherwise. Also the stalker party in the flat when some of his friends joined us was cool. You can find cheaper guide for sure, especially if you speak Russian or you are already in Kyiv, but this is a really trustworthy and comfortable choice. Also this guide was an official guide in the zone for I think 7 years, so he knows almost everything about it, including all the unused routes and history of every abandoned structure you can meet on the way... The only con was the size of our group - six people is a lot for such a trip, but luckily all of the others were nice and friendly, so that added fun to the trip in the end. I also cannot forget that the guide was quite nervous about climbing the Duga because of security patrols - I was there for the Pripyat and I did not want to climb Duga anyway (I'm not shiey at all :D), but if this is important for you, then you should know that you may not be able to reach the top of Duga on this trip - one guy from our group was pretty pissed off about that as he came there because of the Duga... Anyway, good luck with your trip, it was an experience of a lifetime for me, so I hope you will also enjoy it!

Pojedeme tam v příštích 2 týdnech abychom to stihli než zpřísní ten zákon. Nechci nic detailního, jenom zhruba čarou tu cestu a pak vyznačit místa kde jste si třeba museli dávat větší pozor atp. Strašně moc by mi to pomohlo.

@jinoch9469
3 жыл бұрын

Nice video, but don't move your cam too quick

Thank you! Yes, you're right, the cam is on my head - I tried to think about it, but if I'm stressed, looking for security etc., the movement is too quick. Also the sound is far from good, especially the breath sounds are very loud, because the microphone is too close to my nose :D

I rarely walk more than 10km in one day and this was about 130km within 5 days, so... not great, not terrible:). I had really comfortable trekking shoes with Scholl gelactiv insoles and 5 pairs of seamless merino socks, but I had two blisters after the first day anyway. Blister cushions (Compeed I think) saved my life, so this was not a big issue. The worst part was the very last kilometer at night near Dytyatky - the terrain was unpredictably bumpy, so I ruined my legs there and every step became total hell next day... So AFTER the tour - yes, I tried to avoid walking in general for a week or so :)). But it's doable if you're not completely "out of shape" and you're used to walk everyday. Far worse for me was the sleeping - I had about 6-8 hours of sleep in total on the whole tour as my brain is quite sissy about the sleeping conditions in general. First night in that old house and last night near Duga I did not fall asleep at all, so I felt like a zombie even without the active brain scorcher :D

@@jinoch9469 Thank you for your answer. Yes, I can well imagine that sleeping is difficult in such conditions. I will do a tour in April :-) How did you do it with the body care? Do you go into the river to take a shower? Did you have a change of clothes with you?

@@lemiseinanthropos Good luck! I also want to go again this year, at least once. Who are you going with (I mean guide)? I had a fresh set of T-shirt, socks and underwear every day and one extra set to be safe. I took a long shower before and after the trip, but in the zone I just brushed my teeth and used wet wipes/antibacterial gel for hands/feet. It was acceptable in October, but yes, I can imagine in summer this will be difficult :D

@@jinoch9469 In 2019 I meet a guy in Kiev who offers hiking tours through the zone, I'll go with him. I'm really excited about the tour :-) Hopefully everything went well. I am worried that my flight will be cancelled because of corona :-( Did you have a small water filter system with you during the tour, or did you just drink the water without any purifying?

@@lemiseinanthropos We had a filter and antibacterial tablets. I would never drink unfiltered water from Jupiter factory... You don't want to have explosive diarrhea in the middle of illegal hike to Chernobyl, and that's the best case I think :D Yes, I totally recommend this trip, the only thing is that they want to significantly rise fines for illegal tourism in there (to thousands of euros), I don't know if they already did it or not - in October it was still only a few hundred UAH (but we did not get caught anyway).
