very interesting approach, i love the term „illegal trick“ it’s so funny. i also totally agree on the point about some people trying too hard to be different, i also think however that there’s a way of „legalising“ illegal tricks in a cool and fun way, taking your example of the step down tricks. if someone puts thought in the tricks/makes them look stylish/flowy or whatever i’m all in for the illegal tricks

Rollerblading defo needs people doing illegal tricks to push things forward, even the people who seem to trying to hard, they let us know the boundaries. Yea most if not all “illegal tricks” can be made to look good. Even the super ugly ones, if you do them enough people will get used to irregular form your body needs to be in for the trick. I believe a fair few people think double toes or heels are illegal but you’re doing wonders for those tricks. You do them well and utilise them are the right moment.

Once when I was at work a coworker was telling me a story about a customer and as he was telling this story he opened a large package of wet packet ham and folded it in half then ate the entire thing quickly while telling the story with ham water dripping all over his jeans. I tried really hard not to crack up and I thought to myself "Is he gonna address the elephant in the room, which is this ham eating situation?" and finally when he finished the ham he tossed the package in the garbage and went "Geez, that ham was fucking gross." Moyse using your hands is important for rollerblading because it is something you cannot do on a skateboard. If you hate on it you’re hating on of the things that make rollerblading distinct your just limiting rollerblading to a lamer version of skateboarding. Using hands to grab bars or pull on poles and other obstacles is something skateboarding can’t do without losing there board. The reason why rollerblading has died is because it failed to be something unique from skateboarding. While skateboarding has all the flip tricks the one thing you can do in blades is use your hands to vault swing and hang. Also I think that kneeling grind looks absolutely badass and I don’t get limiting tricks. Like flips into grinds why are you making your sport less exciting. Makes zero sense to me, limiting what you are to be more predictable. Why is rollerblading not mainstream because you hate on people not doing the norm. Sorry I don’t see skateboarding doing this, As someone trying to get into it the last thing I want to feel is I do something I like and get grief from other rollerbladers. Why you making people feel unwelcome for doing things differently or not perfectly. If your just learning how to grind why should you feel self conscious about your for. When it’s hard enough to get on the bar, It’s just kinda messed up to me to make new people feel bad for not doing your idea of skating,

Cheers for the comment. Clearly you’ve miss the light hearted nature of this video, evident through most my videos. I also clearly said do what you want, any trick can be made to look good. I’ve talked numerous times about how great inverts are which use a hand. You can use your hands in skateboarding and people do, it’s not unique to rollerblading, people are strapped in on snowboarding and occasionally use their hands. Using your hands would make it more similar to parkour. What is unique, is the skate - so tricks soley relying on what is unique creates the sport and differentiates it from other sports way more. It didn’t die because it wasn’t unique, that’s a much bigger discussion. You should look back into that. Again I’ve done multiple videos on that. This ain’t hate at all. Skateboarding is far more critical of its own than you’re suggesting I am. You might want to check “gifted hater” who btw is not a pro but earns more money than anyone is rollerblading for his videos. He makes some pros yearly wages in a month. Search tricks violations or illegal tricks and you see loads of skateboarding ones 🫡 Flips are another thing not unique to rollerblading, that’s taken from other sports. As I remember I was just talking about back and front flips. I clearly said if you’re just getting into then don’t worry about any rules, it was the same with trick violations video. You’ve just completely misunderstood the tone. Tri Tri who does lots of these illegal tricks took it the right way and tried to make a video doing them all. Take it easy mate. If we can’t laugh at ourselves and take it all too seriously, then we really are doomed. Obviously there are nuances to that statement ha

I don't agree with saying certain tricks are trash. Weather it's the times or the generation of skating or whatever that found somethings rather lame, I think there is always room for everything to be made interesting. Its up to those of the new and us of the old to make it work. Maybe those "ugly tricks" just need the right person before you we judge the trick. I've seen some gross royals... the classiest trick in the book

You’ve got to have a sense of humour about what sport/hobbie you chose to do, it can’t all be serious. I even said in the video you can change peoples perspective. Citric acid isn’t good looking even if done well

fakie 360 method on a street gap would be a certified banger. The double toes/heel must have feet together to get a pass. Otherwise it's straight to jail.
