Tbh I´m really mad at the vet, how dare he say something like that to you. Obviously you tried your hardest to safe that foal. As if you can learn from that. When you have a foal or baby sometimes they dont make it. Its sad but its nature. When the foal is that week after the birth even with clinical intesive care they dont always survive. Please dont feel that you did something wrong and/ or you could have done more. Lots of love

Sorry to hear about such a heartbreaking experience (especially with that douche of a vet at the college-would love to sock him in the mouth) Can’t wait to watch little Dede grow up under your love and care!

Don't torment yourself - foal wasn't ready for this world unfortunately. Good to see that you've opened your heart to "the little person" - she is adorable! I like your videos because you seem self reflected and love what you do.

I'm 55 and the mummy in me wanted to reach through the screen and just give you a big hug. The world is just awful at times but just think of the wonderful chance you have given DeeDee. Thats one life you have saved. Your little one didnt die in vain. Opening your heart when it hurts so bad is a hard thing to do and takes a lot of courage. Hats of to you young lady. This 'little person' will be very special in your life for a long time. :-)

I am a new subscriber just binge watching your videos. One of the things that is so apparent about you is your wonderful love for horses in your heart. The fact that you were so traumatized by the death of your foal is what makes you such a great trainer. You truly care about every horse you come in contact with, and give your whole heart to them. So when something sad happens, it has a devastating effect on you. Give yourself permission to grieve this loss and I a so happy you now have Didi.

I wonder if when the vet said "you'll learn from this" that he ment because it's not always the fairy tail as you said and not because they thought you did something wrong. I really hope you are able to get some closure from the pm results and continue to enjoy watching that gorgeous foal grow. She might not be mo's blood but she is thriving through the love and effort you and mo are putting into her which is just wonderful. Xxx

Oh Miri, my heart breaks for you, unfortunately with foals things can go south so so quickly. You were monitoring your foal and did consult a vet, but you honestly couldn't have changed what happened to your past foal as she was so tiny and in septic shock, it is terribly sad losing a foal and I wish you didn't have to go through it. Bless little Didi, she really is a gift, she is precious already.

Aww I didn't know you could keep the foal you foster! Didi is amazing! I lost my 8 year old recently, and like your situation, there was literally nothing I or anyone could have done to save him. In ways it makes it even more heartbreaking, and in some ways it makes it 'easier' Even if she was only with you for a day it is still a traumatic and heartbreaking thing. But I'm glad Didi is helping you heal from it all

Although losing the foal you had your heart set on, interestingly I think that you got the foal that needed you and your love. So sorry for your loss but I think that it was incredibly mature and forward thinking to open your heart, home, and skills to a foal that needed you. Just amazing. Job well done!!

So sorry for your loss. Your video made me cry. I can't even imagine how hard it would have been to lose your beautiful foal. You did nothing wrong, and you gave that foal the best short life she could've had. Losing youngsters is never easy, I lost my little kitten recently and it broke my heart, can't even imagine how hard it would be to lose a foal you'd waited so long for. But miss Didi is gorgeous, so glad you found her and I hope she grows up into a wonderful horse that you love to ride. Also well done with Kenco, I really liked watching the desensitising stuff you did in the arena with her. The little clapper is a great idea. I had a horse that did that little scoot forward thing too and it's horrible to sit on :/ It just makes your adrenalin surge, especially when it comes out of the blue like that. (Also I have the same Ariat jacket, it's such a nice jacket, I wear mine all the time!) Thanks for sharing your story.

Aww you are so brave, and well done on getting an orphan foal. I'm so sorry for your loss, keep the wee one, who didn't stay, in your heart. Shame that vet was initially so insensitive, the autopsy proved you had done all you could. Love your videos,, 😚

What a 💔breaking story. I think you showed great restraint w/ that insensitive Vet. What exactly is anyone supposed to learn from a tragic, unpreventable event? Uuugh. So thrilled that Didi helped to fill in the cracks of both yours & Mo's heart. What a sweet filly & MO is a gem of a Mom. I'm so sorry that you & your beloved Mo had to go through that. 💔💔❤

I am so sorry about your foal, but to hear you talk about your loss and to be able to take something that was horrific in to something so unselfish...cheers to you darling... A thought to keep in mind. Just become the expert’s can’t find the cause of pain dose not mean it’s not there. And the pony is trying his hardest to do what is asked of him. He seems such a good horse. There’s always usually a reason for horses behaviour.

Hi miri the vet could have chose is words better ! Sounds like he hadn't been in the job long with dealing with clients . He should have said that this is a horrible fact of nature and there was no obvious signs of what was causing the condition and the autopsy will show the cause and you will learn from this and be better prepared . He was out of order to imply you didn't do enough for the foal. !! You did all you could possibly do for the foal as you do all your horses and ponies. You should have made a complaint to the practice owner or the board that regulates the veterinary practitioner's. At least you could get an written apology from that man.

Have you ever tried another rider on your little mare? I know you plan on breeding her now, and being fairly new to your channel I probably don’t know her whole story. From what I’ve seen you always tend to get nervous when you ride her, which is fine (been there! 😅) but, do you know of any riders who just wouldn’t care about her spooks to just see how she would behave? Also you shut her down right away after that one spook on the circle, why is that? Why not just keep going? I wish I got along with every horse I tried to ride but, that’s definitely not realistic 😞 love the vlogs and I just love Obi!! 😍😍
