@@justmejoy124 Some of my love for that song comes from a very fond memory: the year it came out I did a big light routine to Thunder with my show choir at the high school where I taught vocal music. LED lights all over their clothes, light sticks and stuff … the part “dreaming ‘bout being’ a big star….”, the whole group of 28 kids all the sudden came together from darkness and made a huge star with their lights covering the whole stage. Every time we practiced that was our favorite moment- they would hit the star and we would whoop and holler feeling cooler than anything! Will always remember that and smile when I hear the song Thunder! I cranked the music really loud too, bass bouncing off the auditorium walls; it was amazing.

May favorite Dragons song. I hope you watch the video to get a better understanding. Death, disease, abuse and war are depicted as some of the demons we hold. Everyone has some dark and sadness in them that we try to hide from others. I’ve been here since you stated and I love your reactions! It’s great how much I’ve seen my favorite reactors grow by expanding their interests and learning about great bands they’ve never listened to.

I've watched a lot of reaction videos to Imagine Dragon's and this is one of the first guys to actually talk about the lyrics not just that he's got a good voice and a unique sound, I love ID just because of their lyrics if nothing else yeah they're catchy beats and vocals but it's the words that matter. And I just hope he's doing something good with all the money he's racking in otherwise he's just another hypocrite of the system. I've watched some stuff on Dan, he seems like a super down to earth dude who's looking for the meaning of life like the rest of us. His power that he gives off in his vocals and presence is f'ing intense it's like you can feel the power even through the video's. He's both inspiring and depressing for me, I often cry when I listen to these, because human's could do so much good, but it always boils down to money and I guess that is what makes me sad.

I know some ex-Mormons, who have told me things that are mind boggling about what they went through in both childhood and adulthood. One was forced into an arranged marriage to an abusive man. Her family still browbeats her for divorcing the POS. Of course her father abused her mother, and that it was his god given right to do so.

finally!!!! so, this song was one of my mom's favorites by the band. Every time she would listen to it with my brother in the room or car, he'd try to stop it, or get away, but we'd hear him blasting it loud in his room alone. My mom left the drug life to raise him, he always promised to never do drugs, then went into the drug scene. We first heard this song right after finding out about my brother

You need to see the music video. It isn't intrusive but puts the song into more meaning. It is talking about our stories of ourselves pretty much. What we've been through, but hold to ourselves. Seeing the eyes will see the pain and scars of those moments. At least that is what it feels to me. And in the video, people are enjoying the moment, and then go back to the demons at home. And him saying it is up to fate is saying how you don't decide your demons, but it connects with you. Not having people getting close to your demons and keeping those away from it.

Dan has said in interviews that this song was about him personally fighting his demons, being raised Mormon, and trying to find truth. He has been suffering from anxiety and depression for years and uses his songs as metaphors for how he's feeling. 4:49 - 5:29 PREACH BROTHER! That's the 'message' I take away from this song. "I'd rather accept that there is something "evil" or "wrong" with me than be a hypocrite and ignore that side of me exists." Your analogy of 'Christians' was spot on in that bit I highlighted. So much evil, done in the name of TRYING to do good. Meanwhile: I was shopping the other day, and this very old, bare-bones and in a cart lady asked me if I could help her. She couldn't reach the canned peaches that her husband eats as a snack every evening, but needed the small jars instead of the big ones because he will just clear out any that she puts in front of him (I mean...yeah....mmmm...candied peaches....). I load her cart up with the dozen she wanted. "Oh God bless you son! I don't know what I would have done if you had just walked by!" Me: "With all due respect ma'am, I did it on my own. Some of us don't need divine intervention to just be nice." Her: "Thank you so much for helping anyway." Me: -_-, ffs /this happened in TX. I had a brief moment of panic that dear old granny would pull and gun on me for denying Jesus, not gonna lie....

i just wanted to explain something that's old church nowadays if you go into a church it is now to repent and teach how we can be better and make things better while not being told you are unworthy of god, now it is to lift others up instead and help because we now know as a church, we don't need to be perfect we just need to do our best to help those around us. so in basic now it is just to bring people in and show them they are loved by god and the church. that what most churches teach know

I got kicked out of a philosophy class because I proved the professor wrong when he said everything people do , even if it's charity, is done out of selfishness. That people who help others do so to make themselves feel good and that there is no such thing as selflessness. I brought up the many times that our soldiers willingly gave their lives to save others. My example was Brian Chontish. He threw himself on top of a grenade in order to save some children over in Iraq. I'm pretty sure he didn't do that to make himself feel good. Pretty sure he knew he was going to die. That is selflessness. The professor was so mad about being proven wrong that he made me leave the class. What he did not expect though, was that the whole class would get up and leave with me. They did and he begged everyone to come back. I never went back. I dropped his class.
