I think part of the reason why Total Recall and all those 80s/90s movies are pure legend... Is actually the Music. The Music was awesome and at times, it was as if the music was playing in the background, while the actors delivered their lines - they fit so perfectly together. Modern movies just have some throwaway, same old same old, music that seems added as an afterthought to the movie.

Glacielfire But i love the "Dream" music and that alien innerside ..that Kuato theme, that i remember was used in a car commercial. By the way, Jerry Goldsmith music for Basic Instinct (and with Paul Verhoeven too) was used in another car commercial with Sharon Stone...; Jerry Goldsmith was a master and his music was so...magical and powerful, that the music for pictures is not the same without him. Now you have that media-venture music of Zimmer and Co. and all the people saying "What a great music score"!!!
