It's common to find soft blades on toy fans, but if an electric fan uses soft blades like this, it feels a bit weird..., right?
Here is the fan from the IMATSU'S model SF-FS-40P-NB which I bought on the marketplace at a fairly cheap price, Rp. 94,000 for a stand fan! Yes, that's all about filling my curiosity about this unique fan, because when I was a child, I only ever saw a fan with a similar model from the Oxone brand at a much more expensive price.
This fan was invented as a safe alternative for children (and adults) who are filled with “intrusive thoughts” about touching the blades while the fan is on. Apart from that, the grill is also very welcoming to touch.
When the product arrived, I wasn't surprised that this box set felt really light, even lighter than the wall fans/desk fans that I have. The box design is also nice and simple, but not that informative about the specs.
This fan has standard equipment in its box and there's no need to ask about its quality, hehehe. It's not much different from cheap fans in general. The main difference is the head part of this fan, especially the blade's installation part, which we have to assemble first, and the front grill which I think is really a backpain to install or remove.
Performance-wise, the wind it blows is kind of disappointing. It blows anywhere but not even reach half of a meter. But, I have to admit that this fan is the quietest 16" fan I have ever encountered. Starting from speed 1, 2, and even 3. At first, I thought the motor rotation was set at a lower RPM because this is a touch-friendly fan. However, over time it becomes a bit worrying because this fan motor tends to get very hot when the fan is operated for more than 15-20 minutes. What ultimately made me suspect that the motor in this fan was underpowered and worried that it could endanger the user by overheating, and worst of all, a fire.
I probably won't use this fan on a daily basis, because apart from the worrying performance, I am also not sure whether the blades can be cleaned or not. So instead of destroying it, I'm going to put it back in the box and keep it.
Well, that's roughly what I think about this fan which is said to be safe. In accordance with its purpose, this fan is indeed safe for the propeller parts, but if the problem is that the motor overheats like this, this fan is worried that it will be dangerous on the other hand.
