This movie was made because of her. She auditioned for it when she was 16 but it was never made. Later in life she contacted the writer and acquired the rights, produced it and starred in it.

I have to admit religious horror, when done well, does hold that extra creepy factor for me. Raised Catholic, and I had to go to Saturday Catechism classes with some other neighborhood kids. But I would never say that my household was religious, just sorta going though the expected motions. So, when I saw the Exorcist when it came out, I was traumatized. I guess since Catholicism is the spookiest religion anyway it frightened me more deeply than my non Catholic friends. No movie has matched that experience for me, but that's not for lack of me trying! I keep going to these movies hoping tp be scared shitless!

That's right before you said it , I knew you were gonna say it. Ken Russell's , the devils. When you say nun exploitation. But I got one that you might not have scene. It's from the 70s and title , the Sentinel. It's about nuns and priests , but this is about a woman and she is a nun. And I think it should make the list even though it's not like other nun flims where they are pushing the nun habits in every scene. Thx brother, great review James . 👍

To be honest, Sydney has proven she can act, that’s literally why she was nominated for an Emmy. It’s sad it took a horror movie for people to see it, but it glad she delivered on it. You’re right people judge her becuase she’s pretty but she was also valedictorian of her Highschool. She speaks 3 different languages and she is well traveled. To be honest, she deserves to be Hollywood it’s girl, she has a brain

Just came back from watching it today and my theatre was dead. It was me and maybe 4 others. This movie was a chore. I couldn’t stop my eyes rolling. I don’t understand why everyone is in love with Sydney Sweeney, she was not good at all. The dialogue was stale at best.

I was raised Catholic and the religious iconography in this was just horrible; the cross table after her ceremony for example. The supporting cast was just over the top bad and predictable with their actions and dialogue. This was not a good movie at all. What was the time period? They had cell phones. Why were there candles everywhere? Do they not believe in electricity? I’ve been to my share of churches and convents over the years and around the world to know that they’ve adopted to modern times.

Jeez, you're a good audience. Sure, there are a few "sick, nasty stuff", but boy is the writing awful, boy does the directing lack depth (by Save the Date's director, really?! ^^;) and boy is the protagonist disappointing (I LOVED Sweeney in Reality, last year, I expected her to play... differently such a role). I enjoyed the photography and the ridiculous but fun ending, but the rest... nah. I rarely watch that kind of flicks in a theater because they're usually bad, I don't know why this one would be different...
