Dan I love your videos. You are fun and informative. I am a psychiatric nurse, and I use your techniques for rapport building, limit, setting, and de-escalation. They should really teach more of this, in all levels of education.👏👏👏🙌

Love your videos Dan. You are an excellent instructor. I have an interview coming up soon and will use some of these skills and in my current role as a customer service officer 😁. Question - how to answer a person (not at work)who says ‘Is that alright with you?’ I find it abrasive. Even I have noticed I have said this to my teen kids at home and pulled myself up as to not say it again.

Hi Dan, I have a challenging scenario as a customer service representative at a convenience store where a customer enters and orders fuel purchase while simultaneously brushing his teeth with brush and toothpaste. How to handle this? Looking forward to your neat response.

"Mike, you probably aren't aware that brushing your teeth in front of me and sometimes customers makes people (including me) uncomfortable. But it does. I will be happy to give you the key to the restroom whenever you come in, so you can brush your teeth in private. And speaking of--here's the key." Smile as you say all this. If he persists, I would alert your manager to his conduct and ask if it's OK to tell Mike to find another "service" station.

Hey Dan I have Autism so these ideas of rinse and repeat will work for me well. I have court soon where an entire county ganged up on my children and I. Disrrgarding are Civil Rights to Tramatic porportions. I have court again soon, and need not to defend, explain. Which is what a victim does. Any ideas.

Court is different, Aguave. You must explain in order for for a just decision to be rendered. But do not be DEFENSIVE.. Explaining and narrating is different from defending. Relate events exactly as they occurred, with as little emotion or drama as possible. NARRATE THE SCENE. Be polite to everyone, even though your anger may be trying to get the best of you. Try not to be angry in court. Take notes and read from them in court; there is nothing wrong with preparation of that nature. Being prepared will help you keep your cool as you explain events.

That might work if you not stuck working with people who have IQ lower than 90 and have only one skill…putting blame on others. Offering yourself to blame is a gift they won’t refuse. Army says that 12% of population are not able to be trained to do ANYTHING at all. Now, can you imagine working with them?
