Many people are under petition, either under a family or employment-based petition. To be eligible to be processed for a green card, the priority date on their petition must be “current,” based on the monthly Visa Bulletin. But the priority dates are moving so slowly, and, in some categories, they have not moved in more than a year. Why are priority date so slow or not moving at all?
