Short "free play" benchmark of EA's latest fantasy first person shooter. The game was one in a handful to be developed using Epic's popular, powerful and versatile Unreal 5 engine and was criticised by PC gamers upon its release for requiring atypically high specified systems to attain playable framerates at any given resolution or level of detail, even when combined with the dynamic upscaling capabilities of Nvidia, AMD & Intel's GPUs.
Being a multi-platform triple A title with a heavily prevailing market of console gamers to satisfy, it was coded to extract optimal performance from the older, underpowered hardware harboured by Sony and Microsoft's PS5 and XboX series X, whilst a significant proportion of power and features offered by the PC industries latest technology remained unharnessed, necessitating near top of the range components to realise an equivalent level of quality and speed.
Spec of the system used in this test was as follows:
Xeon-W 3175X (Cascade Lake - 28 core/56 thread) 3.1ghz (base) 3.8ghz (turbo) 3.2ghz (all core turbo) 38.5mb integrated L3 cache. 48 pci-e 3.0 lanes
