Fine band. Can't help but feel that their pace is a hair faster than the other British military bands found on KZitem.

Hi, Trapeze.There is an old video on KZitem of the Light/Rifles Bugles drill team at the Berlin tattoo, in the 1980's I believe. The quality is a bit grainy but I can recommend it - it will blow your mind and leave you gasping for breath! And, after that, everything else will seem a little on the slow side. You will not be disappointed, and like me, and many others', you will want to go back for more of such amazing footage. Kindest regards, Bill

Females attached but NOT Airborne. No woman's ever earned the Maroon Beret, yet they're just handed a beret to wear. Men have to earn it to serve in the fighting element of Airborne Forces.

Military bands, in principle, don't have to fight in battle but act as stretcher bearers. That said, that's the official line - I've not heard of bandsmen/women actually doing this.
@Fergus-Collington
4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the band are basically all just full-time musicians who have a secondary medical orderly/assisting role, hence why they have campaign medals. The marron berets are just part of the uniform, like with Prince Charles, though very rarely you might see a musician in the para band with wings on their shoulder, meaning they were a former para soldier who happened to play an instrument.
