Yet, after the sunk of both of it japan military difference of ideology still happen. Not just inter service rivalry but also the difference ideology of which should japan more focus on building aviation rather than battle ship. Imagine if japan from pre-war was focus more on building carrier like Shinano. Yes, they probably still lose, but with it they can support any campaign with mobile. This comment not mean I support militarism, but this comment just tell you about the difference of ideology that was happen in pre-war in all country of ww2

Yeah. Also a fact is that Japan tried to convert some battleships into carriers, like the crappy BattleCarrier Ise. In fact, late in 1944 at Battle of Leyte Gulf, Ozawa's carrier fleet was used as bait because the carriers were not very efficient in this stage. The IJN tried to bring fiery to the US Navy on the basis of "Kantai Kessen" (decisive battle) with the big gun fleet, which failed but at Battle Off Samar, the battleships did decent and inflicted good casualty on Americans. Also, if you know, the IJA also had carriers; escort carriers; some can support landing modified Ki-76s and helicopters, some can't. In fact, they started the idea of a Amphibious Assault ships with the Shinshū Maru, meant to have a configuration to carry planes, but that idea was eventually scrapped. IJN cooperated with IJA to build Army submarines and carriers.

@@ivan5595 My understanding was that Ozawa's carriers were used as bait mainly because Japan's naval-air power had been devastated. The attrition of experienced Navy airmen had begun to accumulate as early as Coral Sea, with a major reduction in the number of experienced naval pilots and air crews occuring at Midway, with the decisive plow dealt at the Phillipine sea. I just wanted to elaborate on what you meant by "the carriers were not very efficient".

@@shawillbetta8981 Stop reading things that only serve to discredit Japan. Do you know about the Tokyo Trials? The Tokyo Trial was the most unequal trial in history, with the winner (the Allies) judging the loser (Japan), all of the approximately 2300 pieces of documentary evidence in favour of the Japanese side were rejected, conversely any hearsay against the Japanese side was admitted as evidence, and perjury at trial was adopted without any punishment or verification as to whether it was true or not. Do not forget this fact.

@@ivan5595 it wasn't luck. a miscalculation in midway led to fighters being absent from the sky for some time and in that time gap the entire battlegroup was sunk by american planes. but look at the air-battle figures at midway before that: the americans lost 10 planes for every japanese plane they shot. there was no way the japanese would lose the war if midway had happened differently.
