Gorn Hegemony Not to mention that the loading mechanism of the Yamato, which was designed around the 1930s was almost fully automatic and far ahead of its time. No other land ever equipped or even fully developed such an advanced loading mechanism. The lack of an automatic powder bag rammer on the Iowa was also the reason why one of her turrets blew up in 1989. This couldn't happen on the Yamato, because her powder bags were put into the gun breech fully automatic, wich made overramming almost impossible.

Imagine being that uneducated. Most battleship were converted ww1 ships and were numerically inferior to the English and American one. The yamato was indeed a monster, but he was the wrong ship for the wrong war. He did not serve but in one battle

@Vlad Melis that's what you think. But USN navy BBs, Cruisers and Destroyers remained in service for several decades later. And posterior conflicts like Korea and Vietnam, giving them world reckoning far greater than those of the defeated imperial Japan. Just to. Name a few Fletcher, Iowa, , Brooklyn, spruance, Cleveland, baltimore classes And USN carriers from the CV-9 Essex family such as Essex, Ticonderoga, bon homme Richard, ranger, Oriskany, etc.
