What do you actually have to do to unlock the next settlement that's whited out?

On tracking your number of actions & resources in the physical game: I think the rules state something like you can use the square next to each round number to write whatever you want. So in the beginning I was just doodling in it. Then I learned you can actually use it to write down your resources (S for stone, F for food, etc), scratch them when you have used one or more and mark your number of actions.

I figured that out by necessity during the first turn of the game, there was no way I was keeping that all in my head while trying to teach myself to play. After, I raided our collection of mini dice and made baggies of 30 color-appropriate mini d6 for each player use as tokens for resources/actions... maybe at the next con I'll drop $10 and buy some cubes.

This app is great but getting really good score requires a lot of love from the dice god 😁 And the undo button will be your best friend.

the app is amazing. whenever I play the physical game I use the wooden bits from Imperial Settlers so everyone can get their resources and meeples which does help.

Can we go back to more physical board game reviews and less of these app reviews. We want to stay away from tech as much as possible, that's why we play board games. Ughhhh.... too much radiation.

Tom said pre-pandemic, they'd get several games a day, and that went down to a game every few days. They're reviewing apps because they've been receiving ~10-15% of the games they used to.

We? Speak for yourself. I love apps for boardgames. It can make you learn the game faster in some cases and just great if its a solitair game.

If you want to stay away from tech why are you watching reviews on KZitem? Bit hypocritical to criticise a channel for reviewing a game on tech when you are using it.

I purchased the app and tried the tutorial game. I didn’t understand what my goal was, what the actions were, how scoring worked, none of it. I think I need to read the rules and try again because the tutorial made zero sense to me. Thanks for the video Zee!

Same here. Rodney Smith did a Watch It Played video that cleared it all up.

I didn’t realize Rodney did a video for the game. Thank you so much for this info! 🤓

The tutorial is useless. It tells you nothing about how to play or what the goal is.

This does seem a common issue with apps ported from physical board games. Either they just include a rulebook or the tutorial is just poor. Gives the impression that either they don't care or they gave the job to just anyone.
