These are such exquisite objects. I'm glad that China has preserved them as part of the historical record of their incredible culture. Thank you for sharing this with us. It is wonderful to see the fantastic artistry of these craftsman.

Too quick, no time to savour and appreciate the fine art work. Only sad to think such pieces were created while millions suffered.

Some narration describing the objects and time periods would’ve been helpful. Were they all from the same dynasty? Which one(s)?

That was in the days when artists could spend weeks, months or even years to create something. Today people would never keep an artist for upto years to produce one piece.

Most emperors were actually pretty chill about it. They were constrained by Confucian morals. And most of these artifacts were actually either imported from outside of China or collected from tributary countries.

These were from the "Forbidden City" ? No wonder, cos a lot of them looks quite Muslim, or Iranian, and foreign. Or is that because some of those items were part of the Chinese-Muslim heritages, of which, they have never had an actual "leader" to rule that section of the trading route? Well.. Carrie Lam being a Cheng, which is based on a muslim-chinese surname must be overjoyed. So basically, these items should belong to Malaysia ? Where their population of Chinese-muslim exists ???

I am surprised the P.R.C. museums have any items left. The nationalists looted most museums on the mainland in 1949 and brought all these looted treasures to Taiwan.
