Armond Morales has one of the smoothest bass voices ever! I love this particular lineup of the great Imperials!

I always loved this song when they sang this with Elvis Presley.

A wonderful song written by none other than the late, unspeakably great Jerry Reed.

Actually Roger is my cousin and he’s been a minister, as well as a lawyer and recently served as Attorney General for his state. His mother is still living, but my Uncle O’Neil passed away many years ago. I’ll be sure to mention to them that there are still folks who remember fondly!

This was a blast from the past. I think the last time I saw Roger was at Lou Hildreths house in Nashville in the early 70s. My dad, Vernon Payne and O'Neil did alot of singing back in the 50s in San Diego. Spent a lot of time at their house too. Great memories.

The Imperials lineup that sang with ELVIS! If Blackwood had not left, would anyone have ever heard of Russ Taff? The Imperials never recovered when Jim Murray left. Armond Morales, to me, is the greatest bass singer ever, period. Supposedly Wiles became a pastor and a lawyer.

I have this LP vinyl record from 1973. The Imperials, A Thing Called Love. Vista label. Yet, it does not appear on any Imperials discography.

Same style as Elvis and the Stamps version. The Imperials also did back up for Elvis in part of his career as well.

Actually the stamps didn't sing with Elvis on his version, the Imperials did. In fact many of the tracks Elvis covered on his "He Touched Me" album were copies of songs the Imperials did first.

PureRoyaltyTV Hard to beat Jerry Reeds Version. I’m an Elvis nut over a Thousand of his Albums. But I have to concede Jerry is the best with this song. If Elvis had sang it straight and not in bass and in the style of the Imperials than it would have been a great track.just my two cents worth.
