Not only does it help promote conservation and showcase the actual positive qualities of the vulture in a way that doesn't feel restrictive or lazy (like with sharks and fireflies), but it also offers a use for the Rotten Flesh item, which is virtually useless. As someone from Mexico, I'd like to propose some things for the new cactus: - Call it Prickly Pear (English name) or Nopal (Spanish name in Mexico) - Call the fruits tunas (Mexican Spanish name) - Make the pads edible, too. IRL they're cooked and then are ready for consumption. Here in Mexico they're commonly used in salads and soups, so perhaps there could be an option to mix them in with other crops in the game to make a nopal salad It's nice to see more elements from our little corner of the world get more recognition, like axolotls and this upcoming feature, however I feel like Mojang and you to some extent (no offense) are kind of skirting around making completely solid portrayals. For the axolotls, for example, I feel that comes in with their in-game diet of tropical fish. Axolotls are small-ish amphibians whose habitat is a lake in the literal center of Mexico. The type of fish they eat is not well-represented by tropical fish, and if anything, it's quite the opposite of what happens IRL. One of the types of tropical fish in Minecraft, the Blue-Gray Sunstreak, resembles IRL cichlids, a type of fish that are invasive in Lake Xochimilco and which are contributing to the decline of axolotls in their natural habitat. Given Mojang's track record of spotty research, I doubt it was intentional. Our crops and cuisine are very important for us, and they're one of the things that are 100% great about our culture without drawbacks. I'd love to see at least that get represented fully, hopefully make more people both overseas and here in Mexico decide to give nopal-based dishes a try, instead of just seeing the Minecraft nopal as "another type of cactus".

Just fully watched the vid and it's really good! Here's some of my own ideas for a backlog update for the 3 un updated biomes in this vid Badlands: don't really have much, maybe fossils could spawn more commonly as well as being closer to the surface in the badlands biome, since in real life fossils are relatively common in badlands. Other than that I don't really have anything else to say. Savannah: maybe alongside ostriches there could be other unique wildlife such as giraffes and zebra. For giraffes they would mainly be ambient mobs that could be bred with baobab fruit. Wheras zebras would be skittish herd animals that run away from players that aren't crouching, kinda like ocelots, and could be bred with wheat or normal apples. There could also be abandoned mud huts near rivers containing early game loot and could add to Minecraft's quasi lore a bit. Desert: elaborating on the idea of ancient pyramids, maybe there could be a sort of "grand pyramid" rarely found in deserts, modeled after the great pyramids of Giza (though not as big.) Within it could be husks and giant scorpions that would poison you with their stingers, along with simple redstone boobytraps. To compensate the loot found in grand pyramids would be very valuable, and normal desert temples would generally spawn with less valuable loot to encourage players to seek out grand pyramids. Anyway enough of that ramble, leave your thoughts down below in the replys

In regards to prickly pear fruit preparation another easy way to do it that people often do in real life is burn off the thorns because the spines are effectively just curled up dried leaves their super combustible whilst the cactus and fruit have a waxy outer layer combined with super high water content are effectively completely flame retardant, so you can often stick a cactus over a fire and burn off the thorns. I'd recommend being able to get "raw" cactus that heavily damages you if you try to eat it but you can cook off the thorns on a campfire or furnace OR you can use a flint and steel to clean of the spikes like the axe. Once you do that, the vulture you raised will take the items back to that nest if you die.

I really like your ideas for palm trees. The idea of saplings that produce different kinds of fruit is neat on its own, and you came up with interesting uses for the fruits as well beyond just eating. coconut pvp sounds fun. Not sure about the arrows bouncing off the wood

On the topic of archeology I like the idea of adding a desert or badlands ancient village like Ait Benhaddou in the Sahara desert, my idea is that this would be many of the new structures where you can find pottery and fossils of ancient mobs. Other previous structures like ancient cities, ruins, mineshafts etc would also feature these archeological objects. And since we got the new chiseled bookshelves maybe we can get ancient books to find that feature small little tastes of lore.

One thing I want to see with badlands are "lush" bad land variants. I live in South West Utah, and the amount of greenery among the red rock makes vista's rather striking. If they provide the chance of trees spawning around water sources like pools and rivers, that'd be cool. Hell, they could have variants where higher elevations grow birch and spruce trees and lower elevations grow their own kind of trees.

Your mod is a very huge inspiration to my mod about implementing the Chinese national treasure mobs from that Minecon 2018 promo in China by Netease. Especially the mentality of using realism to both educate the player and to inspire creativity such as referring to real-life behaviours and mythology surrounding the animals in real life.

I absolutely love the end update idea of meteorites that link to a temporarily locked section of the end, that's brilliant. Maybe a change could be needed for multiplayer, since it's not guaranteed everyone on a server goes to kill the ender dragon at the same time-and it's also possible to respawn the ender dragon. Maybe instead of unbreakable blocks it's more like a world border, but one that you can't see past, and one that only exists for players who haven't gone through one of the main stronghold portals, or maybe who haven't themselves gotten the achievement for freeing the end (which requires you to be in the end when the dragon dies).

I don't think every player should need to kill the dragon to access the rest of the end, but I could make the blocks come back if the ender dragon is respawned at the very least

this video has shown me that, despite how scary yet alluring natural disasters like earthquakes, meteors, and volcanoes are to mod into minecraft; things like termites, tumbleweeds, and invasive species can be leagues more destructive. (and much quieter, to boot.)

Undead mobs having a *fear* of vultures would be really, REALLY cool imo. But I think that's about as much purpose as you could get out of a vulture without being way too "feature-fishing" about it imo. As for stuff like the termites: When the hell did Minecraft become a nature simulator? Termites are the perfect opportunity to introduce a mainline Arthropod threat into the game. Giant termites with various castes. Soldier termites being extremely dangerous. And it's a bit off-typical to ants, so it's a nice quirky fit into Minecraft, whereas ants handled this way might have felt a bit too standard.

@@MinecraftIdeasAcademy Well I wouldn't mind a little dip back in time to when we got things like giant spiders every now and then. People play minecraft so they can break blocks, exploit the surroundings, farm the animals, and kill the monsters. When's the last time we got an actual monster to kill? The Warden is really really REALLY cool but it does not count because it's more of a map hazard than a monster, and you certainly aren't intended to do battle with it. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind us *also* having Zoo Tycoon, but that's not what Minecraft is at its core.

@@MinecraftIdeasAcademy As much as I would love to give them the benefit of the doubt and just wait for them to add more video game to the video game, *time* does exist. I don't think that termites destroying wood made by players is that much of an issue. There are other mobs that grief the players. That's a part of the game. If they were to add termites to minecraft, that's exactly what I would want them to do

it's awesome to have a new video from you again!! The ideas presented in this video are really cool, and i love the vulture model lol ----------------------------------------------------------- Encouraging transport between areas is a really interesting concept that i think Minecraft should explore more, and maybe it could even lead to an improvement to minecarts? 👀 ---- OMG the badlands pyramid would be so awesome, but i think that instead of having a Nether portal, it should contain instructions/clues for how to build a Wither. The Wither is currently almost completely inaccessible to players who haven't looked at the Wiki or other external sources. ---- The meteorite idea is amazing too. Perhaps it could include a hint for how to find strongholds and enter the End? The meteorite also fits into my crackpot theory that amethyst geodes are interdimensional holes between the Nether and the Overworld lol The fact that amethyst geodes are mode of amethyst (a type of quartz) and basalt, is what led me to this theory.

As someone who grew up watching meerkat manor watching this video has given me sooo many ideas for cool mechanics to add for them. Meerkats tend to be family units (mom + dad + a few generations of kids) and if any females of the group get pregnant that aren't the main matriarch it's not uncommon for them to either get kicked out or have their babies killed, so in Minecraft if you wanted to breed meerkats a requirement could be to get meerkats from two different colonies and to make sure they are a certain distance away from the two og colonies, and even further away to make sure the groups can't get into fights. There'd have to be away to tell apart the parent meerkats from their kids, so maybe once two meerkats set up their own colony they get larger or something? Just so it's easier to tell them apart. Meerkats also eat bugs n stuff so their ai could be set up to attack spiders during the day time (which I feel like is also a good interaction with the fact that spiders also become passive during the day time).
