Arne Bleijenberg on "Implications of different guidelines for surveillance after serrated polyp resection in United States of America and Europe"
Authors: Arne Bleijenberg, Dagmar Klotz, Magnus Løberg et al.
Summary:
In a post-hoc simulation, a surveillance strategy that considers histopathologic subtypes of serrated polyps (US Multi-Society Taskforce on Colorectal Cancer) was compared with a strategy that does not (ESGE guidelines). Despite the difference in criteria, in most cases the same colonoscopy surveillance
interval was recommended for individuals. This suggests that serrated polyp subtype does not need to be
considered as part of surveillance recommendations.
