I enjoyed this as I haven't met anyone who has handled the Warwick. It's even bigger than I pictured it.

@gordon962 Pictures don't really do it justice - you really have to see it in comparison to a person or other swords!

I bought one of these specifically because Philip Martin said it handled like a feder. It is the centerpiece of my collection and it cuts well. It also just looks like a sword should! Thanks for the quick review Kyle!

I was just thinking that it looks like it would handle like a sharp feder with that long blade and massive grip. Glad to know I was right.

Superb presentation. You said quick impressions and meant it. Information dense, no wasted time. Regarding the sword, there's something appealing about the Warwick's proportions. The grip seems as long as you could make it without taking on an ungainly appearance, and the bold expression given by the flaring cross and large wheel pommel make the whole sword feel very medieval. Something within the combination of long, tapering lines in the blade and grip married to the strong, curving cross and pommel makes me think this. Well done, Albion.

This makes me really want to darken the hiltwork of my warwick. Looks so cool

Good lord, that's Oxblood? Looks chocolate brown! What a gorgeous sword. Crecy grip with that guard would be sweet. Regretting selling my Crecy when I did.

There's more red in it when you look closer, but yeah, it's very dark.

@alientude - That sounds awesome. I cannot wait for your review. I hope you do a thorough head to head review of the Crecy vs the Mercenary (or your bastard version) It's an extremely common debate for a first Albion. I have never seen the two swords together.

@zeusdagmire6185 Excellent idea! It'll be awhile though, as my Crecy order was placed February of last year.

Awesome! Type xvi are very cool blades and the big version is just super neat. Makes for a very fun longsword. Thanks for showcasing it!

Probably the perfect size for me. I like big swords with big hilts.

You have nothing to worry about - Albion isn't going to change the design of one of their swords based on the feedback of one random person on YT!

Howdy! Great vids and great perspectives! I’ve got a quick question that’s probably already been answered a bunch but I’m gonna ask anyway. As a first time Albion sword owner (Crecy because what else would it be lol) what’s a good way to “hone” or at least improve the factory edge without doing too much damage cosmetic-wise. It’ll kinda cut paper, and it’ll make it through water bottles, just not super cleanly. I’m a long time enthusiast, but pretty new cutter so it could also be technique, but I’m still curious. Thanks!

With the caveat that I am *terrible* at sharpening, the first step would likely be stropping the edge. If you want to get into more information about sharpening, this video is good: kzitem.info/news/bejne/rpmAyZN3kXZoqWU

Hello. this is off topic to this video but I'm new to swords and watched some of your other videos, can you explain what rippling means exactly? is that something to do with the polish or the grind?
@alientude

@-tg5wq Rippling on the blade is when the surface is not smooth. It's typically caused by uneven grinding when doing the shaping of the sword. Most of the time rippling is a purely aesthetic thing - its rare for ripples to be deep enough to affect the sword's integrity or functionality. But it can happen - I reviewed one sword that took a bend right at a ripple because it was deep enough that it became a weak spot in the structure of the sword.
