Alicia - your GIFT to this Earth ... and riders is HOW you explain SO FREAKING CLEARLY - what you are trying to teach! Many riders/ trainers can DO IT.. . they just can't explain it. You do both! 😊👏👏👏👍😊

This is such a beautiful video! I've come back again to see Bethany in her beginning stage & the tips, tuition about contact. What a spectacular opportunity for a young girl without her own horse!!! So commendable to give such a gift! I love your passion for her success Alicia! Giving her that success! This time, biggest pearle is to make the success achievable - don't expect perfection!!! Rhythm & the suppleness of the bend give her connection, & solve the positioning later!! Such a beautiful philosophy- allows her to own this fabulous success! ❤ your generosity of spirit, as always 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🐴🐎❤🙏💟💟

Amazing episode once again! Thank you team and thank you Bethany for charing piece of your journey here with us! I would love to win this too! Question: I've loved the sit inside the banana guideline. It has helped me so much. My coach tells me to have the horse follow my seat. So if I wish the horse to move right I should sit a bit right to lead the horse. BUT if I do a leg yield to right on a diagonal and I sit inside the banana my weight should be on the left side. How can I lead the way to the right with my seat and still sit on the left side to stay inside the banana?
@YourRidingSuccess

Hey Johanna! Thanks for the support - we appreciate it! With the banana, you need to think about the horses body position in each movement and then think about what makes common sense to you and helps the horse x

Wauw bethany! That looks great with only 2 weeks of practice!!! You should be so Proud of yourself! Such a dream to ride such a talented horse and have you two as teachers! @@andreabyrne6527 in the first canter bethany did, but then at about 20.00 minutes she says: don’t sit, don’t sit. Maybe it is my interpretation that is wrong. I was just wondering if it was a technique.😊 but thank you for replying ✨
@andreabyrne6527

@@laurahalma5368 All good, it was more to keep the horse upright and into the next gait (which is canter), every time she sat, her seat would make the horse lose momentum. It was for the teachable moment I'd assume and not a forever with every horse kind of thing. ;)
@laurahalma5368
2 жыл бұрын
@@andreabyrne6527 that makes a lot of sense! Thank you for your explanation 😊

Hey Laura! The idea of not sitting before canter is to help with a few things, the first is that when a lot of people sit the trot they slow the trot down and get stiff in their position. The second reason is it helps the rider to know when to ask the aid as you can work out when the outside hind is in the correct position by when you sit and rise x

Great video so much info to take away - thinking of an upward movement and starting to rise, not forward and fast, bending of the head for straightness as my weak side to the left both me and horse fall inwards so reins etc made so much sense. Can't wait to try these. Unfortunately my mum passed 2 months ago so all training etc has come to a hault. With ur experience Alicia with time off 6/7 weeks where do you start ur training at as I am others would be impacted also during winter with shorter days, lack of light and lack of facilities to accommodate training in winter times. Any tips on what u can do during winter for training scales not to be impacted as it is frustrating not being able to get out
@YourRidingSuccess
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tanya, we are very sorry to hear about your Mum - sending you love. With time off it is best to just stay with your "mind in it" so keep up to date with videos and keep learning then also keep your body fit with pilates. Then when you ride again you will be ready to go. With the horses time off it is best to start again from scratch if they have more than 3 weeks off completely and when you start again start with walking and build up fitness and suppleness slowly.
@shelbyadkins3594
2 жыл бұрын
you've talked a lot about how to get your horse on the bit in a lot of your videos but what do you do if your horse hides behind the bit no matter what you do and how do you prevent this? Also i don't know if its to late to enter yet but i would love to enter for the virtual lesson!! Also is it better to have a training schedule and train for a certain amount of time for certain days or to just train so many days a week and just stop when you feel you or the horse have had enough and just end on a good note before the stress kicks in? usually i would say the second one but i don't know if that is better than having a schedule because i know horses can benefit from a schedule .
@audreybreuls9117
2 жыл бұрын
If your horse goes behin the bit, just lift his head up. Add leg and just put your inside hand up for a little bit. then start riding from back to front again and push him into the bit with your legs without pulling on your reins. Just accept the contact in your hands. Your create good contact by pushing forward with your legs.
@YourRidingSuccess
2 жыл бұрын
Hey Shelby, if the horse is hiding behind the bit it is another version of avoiding the contact, use the same system for connecting the horse so rhythm plus suppleness equals connection. Each horse is different with days off or which days to train, best thing is to try some different days and see what is best for the horse and you, generally as a rule doing two days together is beneficial for training x

Love the video! Ok, question! How do you attach the quarter sheet to the saddle? And which ones are your favorite? I have a Horseware quarter sheet that has Velcro in front of the saddle, but are there others that you love? Thanks!!!💃🏻 And yes, I’d like to enter!

Hey Lauren! All the quarter sheets are different, we mostly use the theratex ones and they have velcro attachments to the back xx

Hey!! It is very cool opportunity isn't it! You need to be a member of our DMA program (which in itself is amazing - video reviews, specialist help with your riding and extra learning) then you can have this opportunity. We also have a competition for KZitem subscribers which is when we reach 1 million subs one very lucky person will have the chance to train for a whole year and be paid to do it!!!!!

Sorry I know this is very random but Can someone help me? I am doing jumpers but very new and someone told me your butt should never touch the saddle when posting trot? But everywhere I see it looks like the butt touches the saddle before rising again??

Great question! You are right that 80% of your weight should be through your feet and not on the back of the horse and you should be in a "standing on the ground" position x

Hi Regi!!! If you end up on wrong diagonal when rising faster it means you have missed a beat which would happen if you lost balance. Try using a neck strap to hold onto while doing rise trot as this will assist you until you can balance yourself and only do small amounts (10-12 metres) of rising trot before having a walk break so you practice while you are strong and not while you are tired.
