I'd suggest to anyone fortunate enough to go to Thailand to train some time at a gym that specializes in clinch/knee striking...the knowledge (and possibly humbling) you'll receive is priceless

This is great stuff. Dieselnoi, the best knee fighter from the old days in Thailand, teaches a similar approach with the Dracula guard, trucking forward agressively, covering up, and using the long guard to clinch up. He even catches kicks and throws knees at the thigh, just incredibly aggresive pressure to get in range for the knee.

Do you know how to do hip thrust? The best way to do a knee is throwing it upwards, but the Moment it(knee) reaches your waist level, thrust your hip. You can pivot too

Thanks for your helpful videos! I like the down-to-earth style of conveying information. Your content helped me progress quite a bit and helped me get even more passionate but also serious about striking. I have a problem and I would very much appreciate if you (Gabriel & community) could take the time and share your thoughts: (The premise is) I have my first fight in a few months - amateur tournament, kickboxing in heavyweight division. I'm in my mid-30s and have to prepare in parallel to my job. I do what I can and works okay so far. BUT: today, my sparring partner pointed out that I move backwards when pressured & crunch too much in my full guard which leaves me vulnerable to uppercuts. Against more experienced boxers I also noticed that they sometimes manage to pressure me so that I lift my head. What can I do (110kg, 191cm, 36y, day job) to learn to stand my ground without lowering my head too much when guarding but also not having my guard cracked open/head lifted up? Is it cardio and confidence? Should I just spar more people my size and gain XP? If anyone has advice, I'd be very grateful. ...geez... I wrote an actual letter... Sorry for the verbose comment 😅 Bye
