a trouble i have with pull up jump shot is that if the ball cant reach my setpoint in front of my head first, i dont have a good grip of the ball and a nice base to extend from, so i always practice slowing things down, move the ball up to set point quickly as i extend my body up and jump from the ground...i found that when i try to rush too much my release is messed up. and also, if i shoot mid range, i ll "hang" myself for just 0.01 second to gather myself and aim better, then i release, i have more than enough power for mid range. but for long range its a different story.

Pound the ball on the last dribble on your 1 or 2 dribble pull up, it's what you need , not what you want. Pound the last dribble , line it up with your knee, and go in your shot all in one motion.

Doesn't a "jumper" require the ability to jump? Apparently not with this boat anchor.

one motion shot or two motion ? whats best

Always shoot pullups two motion, if you shoot them like this guy said you'll get swatted like a fly every time vs good defense

@@davidmacamay7099 yeah that makes sense, but im not strong enough to shoot 2 motion
@davidmacamay7099

@@3taters944 are you shooting midranges or threes two motion? Never shoot threes two motion your shot will be much more inaccurate. You could definitely develop the strength to shoot two motion with good form at least freethrow line. I used to think I wasn't strong enough but really it was my technique. How old are you?

@@3taters944 you'll get there. I have some tips though. Start shooting close in the low post. Once you get consistent shooting two motion from the low post then move to the midpost. Also jump straight up, don't fade yet, fades require more strength than jumping straight up. Don't shoot on the way down, shoot at the peak of your jump. Hope this helps

Did this for the first time, Tuesday. Crossed over one dude with a behind the back. Crossed over to the center, then pulled up with a side fade away jumper. This video is facts. 🎯

@sl3rpzy you dumb? Because you don't watch a video then automatically cross someone up, unless he had prior handles which in that case, why would he watch the video in the first place...

The true key is to just master shooting. Other than that there is no key. Just easier/more open shots and luck.

You have to learn how to release the shot on top of your head. That’s how MJ and Kobe was able to perfect that off the dribble pull up.

@@Swirlgod6 I agree with you, balance is super important I’m a go-to mid range kinda PG and usually when I miss a shot it’s because I rushed it and didn’t get my body squared I may have gotten my feet squared but not my body. I’m just saying the reason he didn’t say that is because he’s just giving tips if it were an instructive video on how to perform a pull up jumper then it would make more sense to say he left that part out.

While it's generally taught that both hips should face the basket when squaring up for a basketball shot, successful shooters have a slight tilt in their hips, with one hip closer to the basket. This variation in stance is often referred to as an "open stance." The exact stance a player adopts can depend on their shooting style, comfort, and what works best for them. In practice, basketball players often adapt their stance to optimize their shooting accuracy and consistency. So, while the traditional concept of "squaring up" suggests both hips facing the basket, it's actually not natural to be perfectly perpendicular to the basket.

Sorry but thats a set shot. Not a jump shot. Perfect example of a jump shot is michael jordan game winner vs cavs in playoffs. Point is a jump shot is held until you reach the pinnacle of your jump then you shoot.
