Copy-pasting and pinning this on all older videos as I'm making them public again: When I was younger I fell pretty hard into that sort of "Oh yeah, I'm leading an internet community, I'm the superstar that knows best so everyone follow me!" which, looking back I'm not especially fond of, it's a very parasocial attitude. I don't think there was any one, super glaring issue, more of a "Death of a thousand cuts" that make me cringe looking back. A series putting forth my ideas as factually "Improving" them, constantly setting my viewers as my "Subjects" in often belittling ways, taking on a tone as if I'm speaking one-to-one with a viewer instead of presenting to a large audience, that sort of thing. And I regret now, it wasn't the healthiest atmosphere for myself or my viewers to foster. So, I just wanted to throw up this "Disclaimer" on all these, as while I don't dislike them enough to throw away years of editing work into a dusty attic, I do feel like a commentary on the 'vibes' I had in the past was necessary. Also to obviously explain the lack of Twitter/Twitch/Discord/Whatever-Else-I-Advertised-In-These-Videos. Trying to keep up a social media rots the brain and I have long since left that behind, I do NOT want that strife in my life! Especially Twitter. Twitter is garbage.

I have a theory on why we haven’t heard anything from Pikmin 4. If it was delayed, Nintendo probably didn’t announce it because for some Normie Nintendo fan who doesn’t read the News Articles, they probably wouldn’t know it exists. However, if it wasn’t delayed, then that means this game is going to be Breath of the Wild huge

Ima be honest chief, this ain't it. It feels like too many ideas that pulls you in too many directions. Like three games worth of game all sloshed together. Making Pikmin be more like a run of the mill RTS would be like making Smash more like Mortal Kombat, just doesn't feel the same. This could be cool, it's very ambitious, but just not the kind of game I'd like. Not my personal Pikmin.

This is absolutely fair, a good chunk of this stems from my love of RTS's, I can totally see why others wouldn't like it. Though, I don't agree that this would turn Pikmin into a run of the mill RTS. Embrace elements of it, yes, but we're not talking the standard "Build workers, build army, claim resource areas, win" formula. The base management would take place outside of regular Pikmin gameplay, in-between the various missions, and apart from the added necessity of gathering materials in the field the game would still play like a regular old Pikmin, just with some added tools (Consumables, tamed monsters, etc.) to bring along with you. Not saying you're wrong, this was a broad range of topics that I tried to spew out in this video and I definitely didn't give each one the time it needed. I'm just trying to clear up some misconceptions that I think might be present here.

@Fluffynator first off there would be an actual story asides from being on the planet to take items and leave the pikmin, which will have the origins of the pikmin and certain stories of other pikmin, much like the shorts Nintendo made on the Wii U/3ds. Another idea would be another character who would be a super soilder red pikmin who is a more bigger, stronger, faster, and better pikmin who would be as tall as olimar, and who can actually speak olimar's language and later befriends olimar to being his second in command, but he would see the true ways of olimar and turns against him, mostly because of how the super pikmin sees himself and the red pikmin, as superior compared to the others

While this is an excellent video, I am surprised with your direction. I actually am not keen on rts in general, but can appreciate its strengths and weaknesses. One of the main reasons i like Pikmin is that its more Puzzle based with exploration with a slice of rts combat. To me, resource collecting should only includes either artifacts(Technology), fruit / veggies (Energey) or monster eggs. And only be used towards upgrading your pikmin and "Space Suit". For Pikmin improvements, cross breeding pikmin with other pikmin to obtain new breeds, or using the monster eggs as a fertilizer on a specific pikmin could create newer pikmin or buffed pikmin. As for suit improvements, maybe certain artifacts/ technology gives you better options when in the natur. Enhancing your space suits' defenses, or maybe giving you access to certain tools to aid your pikmin. A variety of noise makers that effect each monster species in different way, helps you make certain pikmin types more effective, or maybe creates a light that makes certain enemies fear you more, making them less hostile. This system would put a focus on getting around enemies, surviving certain terrain elements or weather, or solving puzzles. And it adds a bit of a monster hunter flair to try and experiment. And the way pikmin games already work, spending too much time in 1 area drains it of both resources and enemies. To me, pikmin is a franchise that does better when it makes you the player feel a bit underpowered for the situation, but are able to manage the resources to beat it. Its why it feels good to leave the planet in the first 30 days of Pikmin 1, Collect everything in Pikmin 2's adventure mode, or defeat a Tricky boss in pikmin 3. I know I am in the minority, but getting a pink flower on a mission in Pikmin 2 with the preset levels and resources was the most fun for me. I know you are listing great ideas for an rts... but I think your video lacked the emphasis on the puzzle and Adventure elements I enjoy more. Can't wait for the next video though Duke. Your content is always creative and shines light on taking things in a direction I never expect. Sidenote: Mixed on competitive multiplayer for pikmin. More towards co-op. I love the boss raid idea. I get chills from the battle mode of Pikmin 2

While this certainly seems like an eventuality for pikmin, both narratively and mechanically, I feel like having the infection/infestation bit misses a giant opportunity for another thing that could effect the ending: When you deal with it. Maybe the basic idea is shown very early on, but not formally introduced until the mode split. With this in mind I'd say that on top of resource collection there could be secret parts of the world (areas?) that allow the player to come across signs of the infection early. Maybe even delay it's effects or slow it down. On the flip side, if the player somehow comes across none of these then infected enemies (and bosses!) become more common. This could also make for an organic difficulty selection. Players that dive into the world and explore to their hearts content may have an easier time, while people who speed through the main story will have a harder time when getting into the post game Olimar missions. Also, with that comment of Chibi Robo, I can also see him being used as the mirror to ROB. Say ROB is a defensive robot that requires energy to run and will keep away enemies. Chibi Robo could be the offensive variant. But he's not inherently aggressive, and instead is just a very confused (and possibly malfunctioning/corrupted) model who simply wishes to clean the enemy base. Maybe he also tries to clean up things around your base, and could become a right nuisance if not properly kept away from important projects. PS: 10/10 on the visual gags. Especially the codec calls.

Your changes defeat much of the purpose of Pikmin, which is the real-time environment interaction alongside commanding your malleable group of limited pikmin. They require limiting the normal gameplay of pikmin in order to focus on these other elements, which would need to be required in order to justify their inclusion. A better thing (besides dropping the colonization idea) would be more tools for the player. Hook-shots, deployable shields (like umbrellas), stuns, etc - basically, taking some classic 3D Legend of Zelda elements to expand on what you can do in the environment and with your pikmin. Your colonization idea would be better for a side-game in the franchise, not one of the franchise-defining main games.

I don't think this would necessarily take away from those elements. Most of these elements take place in areas that the current Pikmin games don't even touch (The downtime between missions, multiplayer environments, that sorta thing), the real-time missions with your group of 100 Pikmin would still play pretty similarly. It would probably require some new whistle commands to give more options to direct the Pikmin (Guard, Fire, Patrol, that sorta thing), but apart from that I think it would still function smoothly, unless I'm missing something here. Do really like the idea of some Zeldaesque items though, that'd be awesome!

... so realizing the multi captain concept is just like "hey what if we made the last campaign mission of Warcraft 3 accessible and omnipresent" and now I'm kinda internally freaking out wanting that. Only took ya months to realize that, pyrr, nice. But as I've said, this is an excellent bed for, at least, concepts to grow from. At the very least, having such a wide net and great deal of customization allows for a sequel to focus in on what elements work and tighten their focus on that, and as Pikmin is really directionless right now, I think that's great potential for the life cycle of the series. Or at the very least to awaken it from its sleepwalking status that it seems perpetually trapped in. I do feel that just focusing on the defensive elements would be to Pikmin's best interest - perhaps make a base that gets slotted into a random terrain that you have to explore while an opposing force also explores it, preventing a raid or the natural wildlife from invading by defending key chokepoints. Pikmin offensive tech isn't exactly my bag of tricks, I don't love the idea of losing before you've even started playing because your gear sucks since you're still learning match-ups, but using the natural element against the player? Heck, just keeping the focus to nature in general? Absolutely yes please. oh and the editing is kind of super charming I know you know that but like just want you to know that effort's appreciated. ... let's add another series to that list of favorites, shall we? I hope I can spark that, at the very least.

I agree. I made a comment that focused on improving the pikmin specifically, but I feel this video lacks the puzzle and adventure aspects I enjoy. I also think a multi captain campaign like that would be very interesting. A good thing to add to something like the Pikmin 2 mission mode if it was not added to the main game.

I feel like this takes too much into the "Expansionist" stem of an RTS I personally think the colonization idea is great, but I could imagine it kinda like being "Hey! Pikmin." like if Olimar was tasked with staying 100 days on PNF-404 for research purposes, and for each discovery about the Pikmin and the planet, he gets DNA points in which he can experiment with making slight modifications to them, maybe giving the red pikmin fire damage, the blue pikmin the ability to swim faster, yellow pikmin to either fly higher and be faster, or to be more powerful via energy storage. I do love the plot of this concept but implementing interactable multiplayer in a competitive stand point is not "Part of Pikmin." Pikmin has only had an optional competitive, and that wasn't even in the sense of worldwide battling, It was in kind of a party game kind of sense, almost like Mario Party. So personally the idea could use some refinement but you're definitely going in the semi-right direction.

Coming back to this video because Pikmin 4 seems to have quite a few of the ideas presented here. Returnable base with upgrades, customisable character, gathering construction resources. Not quite the direction suggested here, but a lot of the individual items.

I personally don’t think adding base management to pikmin would be good. For example: adding resource management to paper Mario was a huge mistake, the first two games followed a more turn based rpg form which shifted to simple platformer in super paper Mario and then resource management was added in sticker Star which stuck around through color splash and origami king. First it was stickers, then paint, and lastly confetti. And none of the last 3 games came anywhere near as good as the first 3 were, before resource management was a main mechanic.

Personally this feels like it focusses more on the tower defense gameplay and not the exploring the world With pikmin gameplay. You have the main story with base building base protecting, and a side story with the same thing. But there seems to be not as much focus on the gameplay we've seen in the other 3 games, which is personally what i come for when i play pikmin.

These sound like ideas I had when I was ten, but worse. I get you think the fact that it's optional or out of the way makes it not ruin the core gameplay, but all options are part of gameplay (lootboxes are optional too). Games don't use every mechanic from their genre, Mario doesn't need to be as fast as Sonic just because they are both platformers and neither does Pikmin have to be more like other RTS games. Your idea, frankly, is not Pikmin. Not to mention, how would this allow for Pikmin 5? PNF is just... Hocotate now.

One extremely simple idea on how to improve: Give it the Breath of the Wild treatment, where some areas are only locked behind strong enemies instead of an unavoidable hazard until you get mystery pikmin/item X. Letting you do stuff out of order, or at a higher pace, but boy oh boy border line unfair levels of difficulty. That adds some real spice to the game. Also YES, some randonly generated parts of the map would be a god send, makes replaying the game much better, and keeps the "discovery" and "exploration" of the game intact. A comment on the "tower defense" and all that. If they never go for the "raids" idea, it could still be a good idea, kinda like a time consuming optional construction that (example) limits the patrol path of a mighty bulbear in the area (please oh god), or one that protects wooden constructions from grubs, etc. Completely optional, yet make operations near the base more managable, and leaves it secure when you leave for a long time, or go in a lenghty exploration.

These ideas are definitely awesome. I do think some aspects are too complicated for Pikmin and would be to be simplified, but these are great concepts to have. Though I agree that this does sound like 2 games. With the proposed 1st half sounding like a good Pikmin 4, and the proposed post game sounding like a spin off Nintendo makes a year or two later reusing assets. I haven't played Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer, but from what it seems, that game mostly reuses New Leaf assets, so there is nothing saying Nintendo couldn't do it as 2 games.

I have only played a very easy real time strategy game, if it can be called that, and that was world of keflings. One thing I liked about that was that you, the player, can collect the resource yourself, which added a nice spice to it. My way of including that would be that the captains can only wear space suit based off of pikmins and let you do tasks that Pikmin can do. Blue suit for under water area's, winged suits to move with the winged pikmin. This could also make way for Captain upgrades to avoid messing with the Pikmin. Upgrades like increase strength to move objects or increase abilities of Pikmin of same type as suit. The suit would still have drawbacks, like costing more energy at higher upgrades but will be small enough to let the fun flow, but big enough to consider the weight

I know I'm late but i thought I'd still give my 2 cents. As others have said, it's too much. Seems like 3 games and 2 stories all mashed together. The side story part would be a good spin off, but to make it Pikmin 4 to me would be like making FE Warriors FE 17, the main points are there but a whole lotta fluff is added. It also loses the feel of isolation that Pikmin has, which I personally really like. I do now love the idea of Louie wanting to stay behind, it fits with his character really well, and having combinations of parts turn into upgrades, being a good evolution of Pikmin 2 special treasures. I also agree Story multiplayer is needed at this point. Despite me not agree with the ideas, I really enjoyed the video and it's good to hear a unique idea rather than "there's another debt so go get more treasure"

I think that something happens with the pikmin series. The Earth has turned not-habitable but there should be plenty of oxygen because all that nature. So I think that Olimar and his race have adapted to that planet they live in and cannot breathe oxygen, and that would explain why the air is unbreathable for them.

This is certainly a ton of very good ideas and would be very interesting to see being put into action, especially the idea of night defence. The only issue is that it doesn't feel much like Pikmin (or feel like other Pikmin games), but if Nintendo could bend it and make it fit well it could be really well done.

all these ideas sound interesting, some of them stray just a little too far from what pikmin is for me, but in my opinion as long as the gameplay doesnt become some top down view where youre just a god pointing little groups where to go id probably still like it. the thing that made me love pikmin is the fact that it has something that other RTS games dont have: being able to actually play as a character in game. id rather play as them than just watch them do things. the idea of a pikmin that defends other pikmin and fights back while the others panic is really good, reminds me of how idle blue pikmin will resque other drowning pikmin

Or you should be allowed to play at night but it’s a lot harder and more dangerous. There could be pikmin that could light up, or pikmin that could stick together making ropes for you to climb up.

But what makes Pikmin pikmin is the exploration and keeping it wild and populated with little creatures. If you change what pikmin is this much, it might loose its value as a game! People will start to like it less, and therefore, it becomes unpopular because the genre was changed almost completely!

The whole point of pikmin is not being able to fight back. You are a hopeless hocotatian terrified by the looming threat of his death. I feel that the pikmin were his only hope in surviving and if he is able to create towers and shops then he wouldn't be hopeless. I know we can't have the same game again but what might be cool are more locations from Earth like if another area you could explore was abandoned Tokyo or an island with a time limit of when it's going to erupt. I would rather see pikmin turn into an open world game where you have towers like in breath of the wild to unlock areas in your ship that you can travel to. I do like the idea of inhabiting PNF-404 but I think in the end it shouldn't work like maybe they say that we would never be able to breathe for that long and it's the pikmin's world not ours. Anyway, I think I wouldn't enjoy the franchise if it became more of a Clash of Clans.

Pikmin 4: Two stories centering on two separate teams Olimar, Louie, the President and a newcomer, perhaps Olimar's son taking up the mantle? Koppaites, but with a similar newcomer (perhaps 'D' as seen in concept art?) have them intertwine at points, almost like it was in Pikmin 3, but with you playing as Olimar and Louie, or even something kind of akin to SA2, where you play either side of conflicts between the two (having Pikmin fights as a boss battle would be veeery interesting) 4 player co-op as standard for either story, but still fully playable in single player or any number between the two center the hocotate story on collecting pokos as always, with treasure as the main focus center the koppaites' story on collecting fruit, perhaps maybe even some kind of master seeds that are ultra fertile where the seeds they originally brought back failed to cultivate this would give reason to bring back caves, with the hocotatians looking for bigger treasures and the koppaites needing to travel deep beneath the planet's crust to retrieve these master seeds but these collectibles should be relevant to BOTH parties - give the hocotatians the need to collect fruit to maintain their day-to-day wellbeing, just like the koppaites in pikmin 3, and give both the ability to use the pokos they collect for some sort of purpose (perhaps hocotate freight has advanced to the point that they run a galaxy-sprawling delivery service that can supply the player with upgrades, a la chibi pc in chibi-robo? but maintain separate upgrades acquired through treasures found, and make those same treasures recoverable by the koppaites - this would add an extra layer to the hocotatian gameplay, where you balance upgrading your captains and achieving whatever poko goal is set for you) but - and maybe this is controversial - add sparklium to the mix. nowhere near the main collectible, but as a necessary resource needed to power the ship, needing some basic low amount (10 seeds or something) to reach orbit at night, and maybe 25 to move to a new area (still needing to unlock them through story progression in the traditional fashion) and - and here's the kicker - make night fully playable and the punishment in the case you can't harvest sparklium in time (maybe even have sparklium only "bloom" in the daytime) and make night time CRAWL with enemies, much like we see in the end of day cutscene at takeoff, but EVERYWHERE. but give it value of its own - a lot of enemies means a huge opportunity to lose pikmin, but also a huge opportunity to harvest pikmin. and maybe there's a certain kind of enemy that only comes out at night: breadbugs. night could reveal hidden nooks and passageways that act as the creatures' nests, where they have hoarded fruits, treasures, even sparklium to be collected en masse for huge hauls, but always blocked by the biggest of challenges, from hordes of bulborbs, snagrets, armored cannon beetles, the worst the series has thrown at us, maybe even bosses - and if you harvest the sparklium you need (or you had it and decided to stay behind for the bonus loot) you can lift off any time you like I think I'd even make the onion(s? probably never return to multiple after pikmin 3, not sure how I feel but whatever) damageable at night, dropping stored pikmin (in whatever amount you need to match the pikmin cap and then one to one as pikmin die) and needing a certain amount of time to be restored before it can be used again, either to hold pikmin or produce pikmin, thus adding extra risk to night time and I'd even argue it'd be interesting to revisit ship parts as a concept - maybe not quite so dire as "you're going to die if you don't get these" (though that might be fun) but at least make them upgrades of sorts: better juice production, better sparklium consumption, make the map unlockable, and then radar functionality unlockable, perhaps hide the hocotate store behind a communcation satellite ship part, a medical bay for wounded captains to heal a la Pikmin the first - I'm sure others more creative than I could imagine further possibilities this way each day (which I'd suggest lengthening due to all of this added nonsense) is packed full of things that would warrant the increase of player count (and an AI system to direct non-player captains) - harvest pikmin - build bridges and clear out obstacles - collect fruit - collect treasure - collect sparklium (in a similar manner to ultra spicy and bitter berries, where the trees grow 5 seeds per harvest and produce seeds 6 times a day cycle) - collect ultra berries - harvest nectar - search for ship parts and ultimately prepare for the caves, for those all-important mega treasures and master seeds that the game basically centers around I love the 4 area standard, but I think I'd double it, make it 8, with 3-4 caves a pop, and make the mega treasures so valuable you'll need to do about 16 caves to meet that goal, and likewise set the koppaites' master seed goal at around 16 and bring back every kind of pikmin gosh dang it! If you need to make certain combat encounters ridiculous in order to justify the extreme strength of purple pikmin, do it! or slow them down even further, make their leaf speed in p2 their flower speed in p4, so it's a huge risk to bring them around another kind of pikmin would be cool, also, like the orange pikmin from 251, immune to explosions (and also limited to candypops in caves like purple and white) though I'd go all out and give them a full on beetle shell, or cyan pikmin with really thick fur that makes them immune to ice in some form I think all of this tossed together like a fan dream salad (ew) would be the ultimate pikmin title

I think these ideas are good, but honestly... It just sounds like too much, and in the wrong direction too. I'm all for trying new ideas and experimenting with franchises, don't get me wrong! Botw did it and it worked out well, so that means other games can do it too, right? Well... Personally, I think there's more to it than that. These ideas seem to take the core idea of Pikmin being a RTS and it tries to expand upon it, and I think that's a fine thought process! But I think you're leaving out a lot of what people LIKE about Pikmin though... I'm personally not a big fan of how complex RTS gameplay can get, how much there is to manage and how much they focus on creating bases and more there is. But I like Pikmin! There's a reason for that though. The atmosphere, world building, exploration, and gameplay that takes RTS gameplay and hones it into a single player experience... It all sets itself apart from what RTS games do. What you're suggesting isn't bad, but it sounds like what you're trying to do is pull Pikmin closer towards those traditional RTS elements. That would be like trying to get Splatoon and pull the formula even closer to traditional shooter gameplay... Sure, it could work, great even! It has a lot of potential! But is it embracing why people liked Splatoon in the first place...? Someone who likes Splatoon might not like a Shooter after all.

7:10 This functionality is identical to certain species of ants which assign certain workers as "repletes" - these workers fill their social stomachs with food, water, etc. just like other species of ants do, but what's different about the repletes is that they fill up and store so much more to the point that that they become immobilized balloons. Amazing video! Might honesty be the first time I ever play a "True RTS" if this becomes a thing. As for the teaser, am I excited for your take on DK. But to give my own thoughts on it: I feel that the Neutral and Down Specials are perfect, and the Forward Air is an iconic necessity. The Up Special could easily be something like the barrel cannon, and the down tilt being the blow from DKC:R would be hilarious. Other than that, I fell the rest would be either minor tweaks or nitpicks. Anyway, hope you had a Happy Holidays, and I'm excited for 2020!

Pickmin 4 idea. Step 1: Make Pikmin 4. Step 2: Once done, add some R.T.S. elaments. Step 3: Add online. Step 4: Cheractor creator. Step 5: Morality system With Multiple endings. Step 6: Slow down, and make sure there's quality assurance before releasing it; even if it takes a few years. (Seriously; we don't want another 06 incident.)

Dunno how I feel about these ideas. I'd like to see some of it on a smaller scale in future games. I like the idea of building your own colony a lot, especially if we can customize our own areas. It's just too much to throw at Pikmin at once.

not exactly how id go about expanding pikmin, i think thats mostly due to a decent amount of your ideas not really feeling like theyd "fit in" with the series aesthetic so to speak, but i wholeheartedly agree that pikmin has insane potential for growth and its a shame that we have no clue what happened to the series, other than nintendo probably misreading the reaction to hey pikmin and it also probably being what the pikmin 4 probably was

I feel like if the incorporate these ideas it basically turns Pikmin into literally any other rts game, these ideas make me think even more of clash of clan than Pikmin which I find this to be too edgy, and war based for both Pikmin and a rated E game, but that’s just my opinion.

I think elemental traps would gel better than turrets and machine's. Like an electric net or a rope that releases fire when touched. But these traps are not nessisary they only give you monsters to give to the onions.

Surprising to go back to this video and see how many concepts presented here have strikingly similar equivalence in the actual pikmin 4 we ended up getting. Character creator in the main game, upgradable unit in the form of oatchi the space dog, Dandori battles as part of the campaign. Really interesting stuff.

I honestly think itd be cooler to have these two things A: multiplayer be implemented into the entire game as an option to play B: night mode, where you can play at night and not be timer stopped, but it were more dangerous w stronger monsters and etc and be limited by food supply or something like that. The colonization would be cool, but i definitely think it shouldnt be overly complex, plus the switch isnt able to handle online the best right now in many games.

I think the spitter pikmin is a completely pointless addition and I think would be better suited to some of his abilities to blue pikmin, let me explain. The goal here is to reduce complexity while adding depth so like you said, the geneticist could possibly give blue pikmin these traits. Possibly getting the trait from retrieved puffy blowhogs or possibly a new enemy. This would also encourage timely retrieval of enemy corpses so that the most amount of genes can be extracted. ON TOP of that you would be able to control if you want to send the corpse to the lab or the onion.

I really don't think that creating your character and having online battles with colonies and all of that shit is smth that nintendo would do, I'd much rather prefer to have some new content that feels like pikmin than just weird wacky spin off modes modes. And also I don't really like the plague idea w Olimar having to cure it or whatever it was, again, it's just not smth nintendo would do, and I don't think it would suit the franchise. I do like the idea for a tower defense at night though.

I feel like Pikmin is one of those franchises that don’t really need to change? Like, I feel like there could be a million pikmin games and I would never get tired. But a gameplay shack up like this would be incredibly interesting. The only actual problem I have is that Pikmin is super duper relaxing. I dunno, something about making it more complicated like, makes it seem less innocent and relaxing. I would still buy this game day one, though.

I feel colonizing pikmin world next logic step in story Pikmin 1 = discover new land Pikmin 2 = exploring and Gather treasures of a land Pikmin 3 = gathering resources that can sustain civilization Pikmin 4 = colonizing the world (require build Dome towns/city's and put down wrath for good or recruit the wrath)

What if the plasma wraith returned? What if it possessed olimar and became an absolute overlord of infected Pikmin, and you fight olimar as the final boss and he uses every upgrade you can use up to that point! And at the end you actually destroy the plasma wraith via the moulded in resident evil 7, and he can't come back

I'm here to say that would be great if this video was made public again now that it's predicted quite a few different things in Pikmin 4. you can explore nighttime mode, there are multiple landing sites in a single area, there's a base camp where you can bring another characters who will contribute shops and menus. this video has aged so well
