Despite one of the most popular and influential series in the history of video games being NAMED after her, Princess Zelda has spent the last 3 decades in the shadows of her fellow Triforce wielders. A powerful wielder of the Triforce of Wisdom who shows her power by... surrendering to monsters... and... getting captured... repeatedly.
Which, of course, you can't have a supporting character stealing the spotlight from the player, that's not good game design! But that doesn't mean that Zelda has to constantly waste her potential! These spin-off appearances just don't cut it, so get on with it Nintendo, just make her playable!!!
May 2020 Retrospective Edit: I've been putting these little edits on all of my first season of content, but where most of them I've been cringing at mistakes or talking about how I could've done something better... I can't do that here. I'm still so goddamn happy about how this turned out. It was so fun to make and an absolute delight to see people's reactions too. Apart from a surprisingly necessary philosophy lesson about the differences between intelligence and wisdom, I don't feel a need to change anything here. 12/10, still my favorite video I've made.
