My shooting partner is a 63 year old army veteran and he doesn’t like to shoot in the prone. He actually does prefer a bench and I always wondered why he says he feels more stable on a bench. This helps me understand a little bit more and I realize that he always complains that he feels so uncomfortable in the prone and his back is so stiff the next day. Great video keep um coming

Ooooh, mobility, the most overlooked aspect of precision shooting.. People tend to chase the tight groups investing more and more money on their gear, just forgetting that the position they take behind the gun is as much important to precision and accuracy as the expensive glass or bipod they run. Awesome video, Sir! Thanks a lot!

Well done! As chiropractor, I have noticed how fitness and lack of fluid and controlled movement drastically influences a shooters ability to acquire an effective shooting position.

Great topic. Nice vid. As an older shooter (62) I was uncomfortable in most positions for longer periods of time. Adding fitness and stretching to my routine has helped with this a lot. Plus, you just have to get used to being on the rifle for longer periods of time. It gets better with training!

Oh hell yes. Due to life getting in the way I had to take a 6-7 year break from shooting and I'm just now getting back into it. My body/neck being older and less flexible has made prone uncomfortable for me so I've been searching for routines on how to build that back up. This video is exactly what I've been looking for, thank you.

Super helpful Philip. For those that are a "little less"than prime physical condition, fitness is not really the top topic when talking about moving into the competition or even hunting circuits... yet, without health, positions / cardio etc are a massive roadblock to being a proficient rifleman at anything other than bench and prone shooting. This video is spot on.

Personally I like the long form video's and content. I will watch a 10 min video or 4 hour as long as the content is useful and not filler I stay engaged. Well done as usual.

I'm going to be watching this in segments😂 manage my attention span... Thanks! Being tested to look through magnification at small objects smaller than a wallet for extended periods of time... 20 minutes, As you are assigned to collect details about the image, tests the mind. Being forced to engage specific things you were exposed to in the image from memory, against a clock counting down😮 made a humbling shooting challenge. I was glad to take part in😂 I used to watch you for the t3 Tikta stuff... But there's so much important about the prone position that I'm looking forward to learning from you 😵💫

Phil has a noticeable improvement in uniformity after this exercise. Me being a landscaper i have almost zero mobility in my thoracic spine and am excited to try some these things out to see if i can get some improvements.

Hey man. I love the videos, but can you try holding back on the background music and sound effects in post? Just my 0.02, but it's distracting and unnecessary. The audio editing takes away from the fact that you're good at this. Keep the content coming.

I have hooded eyes and find myself needing to raise the rifle up more to get a straighter head position. The unfortunate thing is I gotta arch the shit out of my central and lower back 10 minute sessions and 5 minute breaks at the range I'm fine, but those days, I get to go to the prarie dog field and get into it and laying there 1 or 2 hours with almost no breaks. I regret life the next day...

@LukeKrubeck

I hear you! And I've treated a lot of patients in your same position over the past decade. Having a fusion or issues in your cervical spine are even more of a reason for you to prioritize your thoracic mobility. Mobility and/or stability up stream and down stream from your problem area is one of the best places to start. Stenosis comes in all degrees of significance as well; the narrowing of the vertebral column is unfortunately a normal part of our aging process. My cervical patients always benefit from good focus given to thoracic mobility and posterior chain strength/stability!

@@LukeKrubeck thanks for the input. Yeah would definitely help. I also am 63 and have multiple Sclerosis. But I get out and shoot a lot while I'm still vertical. Just take breaks as needed and keep something close so I can get back up. Thanks again for the quick and detailed response.
