I'm just starting out on my off-road RC journey, along with a good mate of mine. Took his 2nd hand Schumacher Cougar Laydown to Westmill Farm in Hertfordshire track today, first time i've ever run offroad, and boy what a blast!! The car was so fast with the 7.5 turn motor, but with the right tyres it handled really well. Hope you guys keep going, you'll get there in the end!!

Stiffer rear shock springs, heavier oil, and thicker shock pistons with smaller holes in rear so less weight will transfer to the rear.

About 2 years ago TLR in their infinite wisdow discontinued their 22 5.0 AC (Astro/Carpet) kit which had a gear diff, sway bars, brass goodies, stiffer springs, etc. The 5.0 Race Roller comes with a gear diff and is currently the only model that comes close to the AC but it really isn't. Offer still stands to send you guys an alloy gear diff, just need an address. Might even throw in some sway bars 😁

Changing to a gear diff is essential for very high grip, having a ball diff will effect rotation and forward traction. Invest the money as it will transform the car

More dynamic camber change on the front and less camber change on the back I expect.

I know you moved on to the LD3 meanwhile, but I've got a question on the TLR: Did you put a Dremel to the front arms and caster blocks before mounting the Schumacher front wheels? The original TLR 2WD front wheels are similar to everyone else's 4WD wheels. Using an AE/Schumacher wheel without the so-called front end mod will cause the major push issues you described. I'll put a link below with a video explanation.
Front end mod and 4wd rear arms, gear diff. Associated red and blue springs.

That's exactly what I've done. I use only 2 of the 4 gears. Really need 50k diff oil at minimum for fast tight corners on carpet. Also brass is a must up front. Lots of fun doing all the mods and adjusting things like he said. 1 adjustment at a time and keep a data log.

Less rear toe Shorter front wheelbase Stand up rear shocks Harder rear shock oil Harder rear spring Longer rear link on the hub Run higher rear ride height than the front Raise the rear diff Shorten the front link on the hub Lay the front shocks down Softer front oil Softer front spring Lower rear link on the hub Gear diff More antisquat Thicker rear roll bar Raise front inner link Lower the front hubs Raise the rear hubs Move weight forwards Don’t use excessive weight Wider rear hexes Cut your rear wing down Add a front wing Move the shock out a hole on the rear wishbone Check you have full lock

I’ve come in to this hobby at the age of 50! It was always a childhood dream to have an rc car, and finally got one. I have the TC Muraco. Love it, put the wrong buggy wheels on (as the original tyres do t seem to grip on anything) with pimples and beats my neighbours radix6 at an old Astro track. But you’ve got the mail on the head, money! I’d love a buggy and a go at carpet indoor, I’d love several models. But with a family, time, and I’ve just been made redundant, I think the Muraco will need to be my one car quiver for some time. Do love it though, thing TC are a bit underrated in the uk but the Muraco is £370 from Modelsport. For a capable, fast RC tell me what can beat that for value? Great vids guys, keep em coming. And thanks to your families as you must spend some time with this hobby and video editing 👍🏻

Sometimes there’s a car you just cannot get to run how you would like don’t matter how many hrs you spend on it, and then you stop enjoying the racing you’ve given it your best and still not happy time to pass it on and get something new so you can start a fresh and get that feeling back for racing.😂

Fortunately I have other cars and other classes that I enjoy If TLR was my only car I would not be happy as I would have had a couple of months of poor performance

Length of the camber links makes a bigger difference then the height of the pivots, roll center wise. seeing as you're understeering in the front try running a shorter link arrangement, doing so should have an over-steering tendency.
