Thanks. I've been playing for 20 years. I discover new things about the bass guitar every day. I believe that if you can hear the groove in your head, you can figure out how to get it to come out through an instrument. The technical ability requires some work but it doesn't have to take long. I hope you have great success musically. Blessings!

In less than two minutes into your video I learned more about how to use arpeggios than I've learned in YEARS. You are a natural teacher as well as a great musician. Thanks very much for taking the time to post this. I hope you have a blessed day.

The groove in general and also your playing is inspiring me to start slappin the bass. great stuff man, how long have you been playing? and how hard, as a beginner, would you say, who doesn't have really any musical instrument background, would it be to learn and eventually get to that level of groovin'?

Beautiful. Had no idea a whole subculture grooved on structures like that. You could use 3 & 6 minors and the 7th dim, right? But better to get the Major triads down. The Harmonic Minor has dims and augs in it so that will be fun for me, too. As a pro, could you tell me where the Sus triads are most likely to be used?? Thanks again----well presented, explained and demo'd.

thanks for this video - very helpful. Some feedback - It would have been more helpful if you ran the same groove at 1/2 or 3/4 the tempo. not ashamed to admit that what you played once you started incorporating the arpeggios sounded like magic to me. I was able to figure them out in time, but i can only imagine how it must have felt for someone who is more of a beginner than I am.

I'd be able to explain this better with a keyboard video. The true 3 chord isn't used very often in songs today when it's being used as a passing chord when going from the 1 chord to the 4 chord. It has a distinctively different sound than the 1 chord inverted. The true 3 chord is used more in R&B or blues, jazz, rock, folk, soul etc. It's not really used much in modern gospel music. I'm not sure why, it's just not.

I'm a beginner and I wondered< how I could get more structure in my lessons? Like what are the fundamentals in learning the fret board notes? And generating fluidity, accuracy and speed?
@GospelBassLines
7 жыл бұрын
sylart57 To help learn the fretboard, practice memorizing the notes by key signatures. Learn the scale degrees in various places on the neck. On a 5 string bass, you can play the same octave in 3 or 4 places on the fretboard.
