Same. People do not take ladders seriously enough. I’m fairly young (29) and I’m not in the construction field whatsoever, and still I know 3 people personally who have been seriously hurt or killed by ladder accidents. The first one broke both his femurs, his pelvis, collarbone, and God knows what else and had to be in essentially a full body cast for over a year, then struggled getting off of pain meds afterwards. The second broke his C2 vertebra, which is also known as the hangman’s fracture, and by some miracle, he not only survived, he also managed to retain most of his mobility. He should’ve been dead or paralyzed from the neck down. He now has to live with permanent damage and chronic pain though, and that’s no small thing. The third guy was truly horrendous. He was trimming branches away from his roof with a chainsaw while on the ladder. He slipped and fell, and the still active chainsaw fell on him. He did not survive. I share these stories in hopes that somebody will see it and remember to practice an abundance of caution whenever they are using a ladder. No stray branch or Christmas light is worth your life or your health.

As someone who delivered concrete for years I can tell you that reinforcing walls or formwork is a very good idea. When you think you've reinforced it enough, reinforce it some more just in case. You also need to go slow when filling in a cavity. A barrowful of concrete is pretty heavy so just dumping it straight in is going to put a lot of stress on a wall.
@nicerides9224
9 ай бұрын
@Kitsune-Power You normally don't have to wait until each layer dries. Just add a small amount each time so you aren't adding a huge stress to the wall in one hit. If it's a very deep channel and reasonably wide then you would have to really reinforce the wall or do it in stages and wait till each one dries. Just the weight of the concrete would put a lot of stress on it.
