Excellent analysis, as always. The Ted scene really goes to show the lengths Skyler needs to go in order to combat Walter, especially since more traditional forms (like divorce, calling the police, etc.) don't work. You can also view it as a commentary of how difficult it is for victims of abuse to leave their abusers and the methods said abusers use to manipulate friends and family around them to their side. The battle between Walt and Skyler in general serve as an interesting lens of analysis that this video serves as a good introduction for.

Except Skylar wasn't a "victim of (any kind of) abuse," quite frankly she was irrational and moronic as hell. At first, she literally thought Walt was selling WEED with a former student-to pay for the insanely costly treatment for his stage 3 cancer diagnosis as well as the family once Walt dies (which he believed and it looked like would be only a matter of months)-which was somehow cause to file for a divorce in her mind . . . He didn't have an affair, he wasn't molesting children, as far as she knew he wasn't hurting/killing anybody, and his reasons were more than valid outside of a legal standpoint. I mean you can't expect much from a nerdy-white bread-suburbian mom like that, which is why she was so damn annoying-she was basically the polar opposite of Kim Wexler.

Absolutely agree. So many people suffer from what I call “character blindness.” Meaning that just because they personally dislike the character, they view all of their actions as wrong, regardless of their true morality. It could just be the actress, or the way she talks etc… but people just dislike HER. And because of that, minor wrong doings the character commits are treated like huge flaws and are never forgiven. While people clap and cheer for literal murderers. Because likewise, character blindness works the opposite way, people absolutely worship Walter because he has cool dialogue, does cool stuff or maybe just because he’s more interesting a character and is well acted. And for all these reasons, people will defend his wrong doings, or simply over look them. It’s also just generally a problem with tv shows and glorification of violence. It’s kind of insane that despicable characters like Patrick Bateman can also be so beloved. It’s scary how all it takes is some cool dialogue or funny moments to make us relate with psychopaths.

Bullying actually does work! I’m here for it. By the way I love “ The Honored Ones” podcast and the dynamic you both have. Having it on Apple Podcasts is a big deal for someone like myself who wants to break away from video content. Now to press play and listen in about a show I’ve never watched, but seen a few videos on.

danggg great video! Really made me feel for her.. But remember. He was sick and wanted to do what was right for his family. So i dont think he cares are much as people think. Of course it was a shock at first, but it doesn't change his mission... Taking care of HIS children. She could fall in a well. He wants the children supported when he is gone.

The people that think this is the worst scene always seem to be the people that loathe Skylar, cause she's pushing back against Walt being the "big bad cool drug guy that is so smart and badass and I wish I was him". Missing the point of the series.

How the f is this video soo good, over a year old, 3k views and had only 99 likes, mine being the 100th. Ether my YT is broken, or you need some kind of publicity. It's kind of unfair, anyway the best of luck in the future.

@@Kreamsy The sad part is that it doesn't matter. People hate cheaters more than they hate most murderers. They also hate hypocrites more than thieves. People are just like that.

just gonna comment for a better engagement as i do not have much to say about the video itself , found it quite agreeable + would recommend watching/reading "GIN NO SAJI" a manga by the same author as of FMAB ; genre : slice of life its not really long so try to give it a shot , really good if i say so myself
