Thank you, that was a very good video. Answered all my questions about parts needed to finally do the job right. Badass job describing the parts and what the install process would be like. Will look for a Drier that is forward facing. I have a 1993 Chevy S10 Blazer Tahoe LT w/4.3 Vortec.. good engine, just has the damn R12 components. I Was going to try a kit that's supposed to let you recharge w/out replacing parts, some kind of R12 to R134a kit, but you inspired me to just do it right. Good camera shots and talking points too 👍

Thank you for the kind words and for the viewership. I didn’t find any videos that tickled my fancy when I was going through the process so I had a duty to make as good of one as I could.

all of this is not needed.. all you have to do is remove the compressor and drain the mineral oil out,, then add 4 oz of PAG oil.. vacuum system down, leak check. then get an r12 to 134a hose adapter, and fill it with 134a ,, the oil change may nor even be totally needed.. when r134a first came out I put it in a freezer that took r12.. the freezer has been running flawlessly for 17 years now.. alot of things in the refrigeration industry is scammy.

Pag oil actually evaporates and mixes with r134a and moves through the system. Where is mineral oil does not and doesn't mix with r134a. In a small AC system there's not much distance that the oil needs to move to keep things lubricated, but in a vehicle AC system that oil has to move throughout the whole system past the compressor converting back into a liquid to lubricate the compressor. With mineral oil it will not reach the compressor

You also forgot to replace the expansion orifice that's located inside one of the evaporator tubes

I ended up having to convert my 97 dodge to carb because they don’t make a proper crank sensor for the 5 speed stick model v8s anymore and had to relocate the a/c compressor. I ended up fab’in up an idea to run the compressor off a 5amp Clothes dryer motor, mounted remotely. Cool part is I can run it without the engine running. Engine bay is huge so I could mount the remote compressor on the passenger side of the engine compartment.
