You should add the automatic tool changer similar to the Carvera. This would make this the holy grail of desktop cnc machines. Great product

I am sold! this is exactly the kind of machine I hoped existed and now it's coming out. I own a 400x800mm CNC router however it is a bit underpowered considering I want to get into CNC metalworking especially steel. all in all very nice job Omar, I look forward to supporting this project.

Nice machine. I am for fun making one in CAD that is same kind of machine and basically same size. I am curious why the rails for the bed are so far spaced apart. Does it not make the bed flex more in the middle compared to if rails where closer? I see the DMC1 has them closer. What made you change that? Is racking more of a problem than flexing of the bed?
@LuLeBe
2 жыл бұрын
With the size of this machine and the thickness of the bed, I would not expect it to flex under the load that this kind of machine would produce. So I'd rather have the rails further apart. Just to make sure the bed can't be mounted at a slight angle onto the linear rail blocks.

Great job dude.. Most other mini machine manufacturers just don't get it.. It seems as if they lost their way.. A small rigid machine seems so simple to ask for.. Keep all the extras... Small and rigid and affordable... Keep it up, stay consistent and on course for our sake please until some greedy scums come along and try to buy your company and either doubles the price or outsources the parts to China.. Ultimately you gotta do whats best for yourself but please hang in there long enough for me to buy one...

If i convert my mill to CNC, my mill + parts will be significantly cheaper then buying your product. And i will have a lot larger build area and far greater rigidity etc. I suppose for 3K it would make sense but not 5K or 6K for assembled version.

I am sure it will sell great, but I think it could be even a greater hit it you offered a Datrol-like version with ATC and full enclosure with slide door. Usually machines like that are incredibly expensive and if you offered it even at 6k it could probably sell like crazy. ATC or even a quick-change tooling is extremely convenient.
@bobbyshaftoe
3 жыл бұрын
It would be even more expensive. I mean, that would be a great "DMC3" but I will be VERY happy to change tools myself for a lot less money. This thing is PERFECT for watch making, automotive brackets, and robot parts!

Nice machine! I do understand what it takes to design, prototype, debug and ultimately ramp up to product but your lead times, while not out of the ordinary for this industry This could be DRAMATICALLY reduced with no additional cost, actually it would likely save you money! I am talking about taking the lead times down from months to a week or 2. Anyway awesome project, you deserve a lot of credit! Cheers.

Is it possible to add a small 5 axis table onto this or is the space not sufficient?
@TwinStarGenny
3 жыл бұрын
Shariff did the best he can at the moment given his resources... I'm sure when this takes off, there will be more 5-axis support later down the line. Have some realistic expectations for all the hard work that was done up to this point. Great job!
@mhe0815
3 жыл бұрын
I am not asking for 5 axis support handed to me on a silver platter, just whether there is enough space to add it, document it and share the solution with the community. I want to help but there are prerequisites for this being possible, space being the main one. And since there is no open source CAD model to try out the fit, all I can do is ask.
