Potti regretting, probably didn't expect todays success compared to his era.

CS 1.3-1.5 were fun, but I've always wanted to see Potti playing more CS 1.6. I wish he stayed at least until 2008. He was unstoppable in his time.
@asdadfafafafffallslsldd8068
Жыл бұрын
He surely was. But even if he was able to win a lot of tournaments in 1.6 he still wouldn't have made significant money. All the players from back in the day that quit well before cs go, ended up with almost no money. At some point you just have to "grow up" and make grown up decisions which is exactly what he did as the smart guy he is. Pro gaming was at the very beginning and money just wasn't there yet. Someone like Potti being born 10 years later = Multi millionaire But this interview 12 years ago showed the reality and somewhat sadness of the situation with him working as a traveling salesman and you can hear he's full of regrets and open to any opportunities within gaming, like licensing products etc. But it never happened and it never will. Potti and Heaton aren't marketable today as kids today don't know or care about them. 15 years ago while 1.6 was still played they were very marketable and Heaton took advantage of it while Potti didn't.

Pro gaming back in the day was like the wild west. A bunch of cowboys running the organizations. We all got screwed over time and time again. Surprising it happened in big organizations like SK. Bitter sweet to think how different it would have been to be born 10-15 years later. I both envy and love how kids today can make millions on their gaming talent. And it's a bit sad to think how guys with all the talent in the world like Potti ended up with 0 money after their playing career. At least Heaton got a lot of his name in the end through Benq, Zowie etc.

i was in Dallas at the 2004 CPL and these guys were like celebrities. In my day you went to a lan, you got 1st 2nd 3rd a check was handed over. This is terrible SK has screwed players out of money, absolutely soulless. Also potti will go down in the top 3 of all time for me.

lol a lot of the tournaments back in the day had massive problems / the will to pay out the price money. CPL in particular was absolutely horrible. And organizations was all over the place.
