I still can't believe the incredible Eric Carmen is gone. He was an amazing singer and songwriter. He was a great guy, humble and gorgeous. I'm so happy I was able to see him a few times in concert. I'm gonna miss him so much. Love You, Eric, always. Rest in peace, beautiful and sweet soul. Heaven has gained a great voice. My prayers go out to his family and friends. 🌹🙏

I used to see him with Cyrus Erie back in the late 60's at all the local 'Hullabaloos" they were teen spots in and around the Cleveland, Ohio area and burbs...he wrote many beautiful songs and great rock tunes. He will be missed for sure! Hoping for more details from his family. warmest regards thanks for posting, and I pray for his family during their time of sorrow.

@@Aroseisarose15 Yes I had a few bands at that time "garage" bands, and Eric and CyrusErie were our mentors of course!! if they covered a new hit song, we followed suit;-) I first heard them at the North Ridgeville Hullabaloo, and thanks for the reminder, I do believe they DID change their name to Cyrus Erie. I also recall seeing TED NUGENT from the Amboy Dukes doing their hit song "Journey To The Center Of Your Mind" at I guess it would have been Cyrus Erie, if that's when the change came in 1968? They had Hullabaloos in Mentor and Chesterland as well, think there were only those 3 but if anyone recalls any more, please comment! "I can remember " was one of the most beautiful songs he did!! My favorite's are "Boats Against The Current" and "Make me Lose Control" Eric and his band Cyrus Erie also covered nearly all of The Who's hits, and many Beatles songs. In fact seeing Eric play piano in Cyrus Erie inspired me to start up piano again and in corporate it in bands I had. God Bless thanks for posting!!

I was heartbroken when I heard of Eric's passing. 💔 I can't stop listening to his songs that bring back so many sweet memories of my younger days. My favorite song by Eric is 'Never Gonna in Fall in Love Again', a Masterpiece, in my opinion. What an amazing talent he was! I am so sad that he is no longer with us. My sincerest condolences to his family in their time of sorrow, especially his children. Thank you for the years of wonderful memories, dear Eric! RIP.

I had no idea until tonight that Eric had passed. It was only about four months ago that I stumbled upon a reaction video about the most elegant key change in all of pop history. Of course I played "All by myself" about a hundred times. I had known the song before but not appreciated how well written and performed it had been. I learnt of the connection with Rachmaninov and the history of it. I must have played that song a hundred times or more in the past few months. All the while Eric was on his last legs. Farewell Eric. You are a giant among us. Thanks for the music and trust we shall never forget you. You will never be All By Yourself. ❤

YES, There needs to be something from the local area for a tribute INDEED??? Something maybe from the Rock n Roll Hall of fame?? For heavens sake The Rock Hall is here cause of Billy Joel, for you folks who are not aware of what happened. Billy and Eric were the same age. Michael Cavanaugh from CLEVELAND was hand picked by Billy to do his Broadway stage production and reproduce his music. I'm sure he could do the same for Eric, have a couple shows at the rock n roll hall of fame, or Music Hall they would of course sell out for sure!! thanks for the suggestion and God Bless!

If you never heard the long version of All By Myself (7+) minutes; shows his incredible talent with blending classical & contemporary styles. It’s so hauntingly beautiful in every aspect. The short 45 version as good as it is, doesn’t compare to the album cut. Give it a listen & I’m😊 sure you’ll agree.
