Long Ago and Miles Between I was driving a truck in far west TX when on came this song, but the station was on and off with the signal so I hit a peak where I was getting exceptional reception and I pulled over to the side of the road to continue listening to this song. I knew at that moment I was listening to a legend in progress. Luckily I lived in Fredericksburg, TX when KFAN Rebel radio was playing lots of Jimmy's early songs. During that moment of "Long Ago and Miles Between" this master of wording soulful artist took me back to a time long ago of my own. I learned almost a week after of Jimmy's passing and my thoughts went back to far west TX, long ago and miles between. Thanks Christina Fajardo for sharing these songs and photos' from the past. May his music live on forever!

He was a soul singer doing folk-rock. I was in his band before he moved to Austin. I knew then he was something special. He put aside other gratifications to be true to his art, left a great catalog of songs and touched many hearts. Vaya Con Dios, brother.

Jimmy, I was saddened by your passing. Ran into you many times in my younger years in Austin. We chatted a few times, though sadly I can't recall the words we exchanged. THANK YOU for your act of kindness when my little one was born. Your version of "Forever Young" was playing when he was born. Rest in Eternal Peace, sweet Prince.

About two years ago I stumbled across a Jimmy Fa Fave song as was a LaFave junky from that moment on. Met a neighbor of his who had a chance to tell about his big fan down in Costa Rica Wanted to try and get him here, just knew we would hit it off , but Jimmy took the early bus to " The Great Forever" so I will have to wait till I get over their to meet him. I can simply say this, his music and voice, arrangements and musicians, touches me somewhere inside more than any other. No matter my mood, Jimmy made it better See when I see ya' Jimmy, thanks, again for sharing your soul, it was a good one❤️😎

I found / discovered this rare voice of Jimmy LaFave just recently and knew nothing about Jimmy or his music what so ever. So when I find a voice that has something worth listening too I naturally played more and more tracks and am really captured by Jimmy's voice and music ... then ... sadly I found the sad news that Jimmy had passed four years before I found his fine music. Listening to Jimmy's songs it sounds so natural, organic something that is missing in todays world ... thank goodness that KZitem is here as without YT I would never have found this Great singer, musician and songwriter. For sure Jimmy will be keeping the folks upstairs truly entertained ... thanks for posting this "in memory" video.

What an amazing tribute to the life of one of Austin's gentle soulful musicians. Austin's balladeer, always willing to help an aspiring musician with their career.
