In this talk, Bhante explores Numerical Discourses, the Book of Sixes, sutta no. 43. Here a conversation begins between the Buddha and a monk named Udayi about the meaning of the word "naga," which is used to signify a being of great mass or great qualities. In response to the Buddha's statement, Udayi breaks out into a paean in praise of the Buddha, detailing the correspondence between the Buddha and a bull elephant. Bhante explores the meaning of these verses both in Pali and in English translation.
