Good afternoon Friends, this is my next report from the GIRD Special Equipment Factory. The plant presented its new project - a self-propelled passenger ladder - TSP GIRD. The telescopic ramp is designed for use on the territory of airfields - boarding and disembarking passengers from aircraft with a threshold height of 2.4 and up to 5.8 meters. This equipment for the aircraft can be operated all year round, regardless of weather conditions and time of year.
The passenger ladder is a telescopic structure that is adjustable in height when the steps are extended. Regardless of the height of the lift, it has a constant distance between the steps. The lower section of the ladder is stationary and has 16 steps. The lower step reclines automatically.
The upper sliding section has 12 steps and is extended by means of a hydraulic cylinder. When the required position is reached, the sliding section is mechanically fixed with stops. The angle of the ladder is regulated by two hydraulic cylinders, which are located behind the driver's cab.
The front section of the upper platform is extended by electric actuators to a safe minimum distance to the fuselage of the aircraft (without touching the side). The sliding section has the ability to rotate at an angle from + 10 to -10 degrees around the vertical axis. The front part of the platform and the railing are equipped with dirt-repellent elastic bumpers made of polymer material.
All the surfaces of the aircraft ladder, on which passengers walk, are aluminum with an anti-slip coating. The lighting of the stairs and platforms is built into the sides of the ladder and protected from damage.
The ramp for the airfield is equipped with a control system based on a programmable logic controller. This system ensures the operation and control of all executive mechanisms:
- performs automatic setting of the specified height of the leading edge of the upper platform,
- regulates the speed when approaching the aircraft,
- stops the ramp when docking with the aircraft,
- provides output of information about the status of the ladder systems and auxiliary information to the monitor.
The operations of setting the required height of the upper platform position and docking with the aircraft can be performed both automatically and manually.
