I just purchased the Geissele 14.5 CHF based on this review. It will arrive next week. Stoked 🍺

Have a Mod1/TS30A2/AEM5 and I love it. While it has aged quite gracefully I was thinking of a modern version that I wouldn't mind running hard. All the lessons learned from building it out and running it past 600 over the past 18 years, the URGI seems to check most of the checkbox's I'd be wanting. Thanks for the review.

That’s so funny, I dropped my brand new 14.5 URGI upper to my gunsmith a month ago to remove the pinned welded Surefire flash hider and replace it with an AAC 51T for use with my AAC M2000 suppressor. I’ve removed pinned and welded muzzle devices before but, I didn’t want risk messing up my new upper.

Accidentally sent geissele support a screenshot of a scripture verse with a picture of my enhanced bolt carrier group I needed some service on. “by their works, ye shall know them.” I felt so awkward but they were so chill about it 😅 Hope they got a laugh out of it

After purchasing a stripped Geissele Super Duty upper and seeing the crappy job they did drilling for the coil pin for the gas block, I'm in the process of rebarreling it myself. Ended up getting a URGI clone from Thoroughbred Armament with the Daniel Defense barrel like the first batches of URGIs.

Geissele barrels are better bro should have sent it back to them to have them redo pin and weld but to each their own.

@@yipeeiaye well a comparison from a consumer side is coming. I know just enough on the SPR side to be dangerous. 14.5 with 3-18 is impressive however when I was up at Ridgeline one of the guys have a URGI. He had some pretty extreme POI shifts going from bi-pod to barricade. Widnage held perfect. But elevation dropped almost 4”. I will cover this in the conversation. Short answer. If you are wanting a true SPR set up, and with Ridgeline selling the LPR uppers. And the groups guys are posting on the Gasgunfastgun IG account. And the rifle being specifically designed around eliminating flex in the upper. LPR is the way. And yes I paid full price for mine. Since many have assumed I got mine for free. 🤙

If I didn’t already have a 14.5” BCM MK2 I would absolutely pick up a 14.5” G URG-I. Just don’t have a need/want for another 14.5”. I really like the rail so I put a 10” one on a 11.5” build. DDC Looks great paired with a matching charging handle.

Would you normall run such a high magnification scope on a 14.5 like this or would you go for something like an LPVO?
@CutlassOutdoors

Dope setup. I love the NX8 on that URGI upper. How do you like the T3 with that magnification range? Do you find it to be visible enough at 2.5x, or do you think a stacked red dot is necessary? I was thinking about getting the same scope for my SPR, and I love the T3, but I was just curious how well it performs with that magnification range.
