I do the same thing. My boyfriend is very interested in music (he sometimes composes his own pieces too), and he said my ability to compare and use songs as references to others could be an underdeveloped form of quasi perfect pitch. quasi perfect pitch is essentially a more advanced form of relative pitch in which you know the name of a note by using a reference. In perfect pitch you automatically know the name of the note where as in quasi perfect pitch you know the name of the note through practice and memorization. For example, memorizing a song and connecting the notes from one memorized song to another. If you knew the exact names of the notes you are comparing just by hearing it, that would be quasi perfect pitch.
