Once again, a superbly produced account of eerie history. Few people could have produced such a well-researched, professionally produced depiction, with such excellent narration. I do hope you continue to supply such pitch-perfect material, so much superior to mainstream documentaries

What can I say our hidden realms.. I've been waiting for this to drop in my notifications box.. Here in North Yorkshire we have a very huge number of black dogs or (Barghest) sightings that come from the devil himself. I personally know one person who has actually witnessed such a thing and no he's not crazy.. he is an actual school teacher therefore, a level minded person ....I would say 😊.. the sighting was in the Yorkshire dales in 2021 but never documented for obvious reasons.m. these sightings of Satan's dog date back nearly A thousand years. If not more sightings throughout written history. I am very intrigued about British folklore. Thank you hidden realms for yet another gem 👻🐈⬛⚫🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Like so many mystical creatures, Black Shuck's conduct comports with the person it encounters: The gentle innocent woman was protected, People keeping vigil in place they don't belong are scared off, People with unknown evil in their hearts are killed.

My Dad grew up on a farm in snowdonia, we used to visit family there every year, whilst driving back to the pub we used to stop in at night, we used to drive through a stretch of woods along the valley side, with an old stone wall down to the roadside, and my Dad used to tell me we're coming up to Ghost of the black dog, to which I used to cower down into the footwell on the back seats. It was a well known local ghost. My Dad told me a time when a local farmer and friend of my Grandfather would visit the farm and they'd sit by the fire place enjoying a bottle of whiskey into the wee small hours, discussing matters and playing cards. One night he got on his horse and rode home, only for there to be a knock on the door about half an hour later, he had returned white as a sheet, explaining he had seen the black dog ,which had ran down the line of the stone wall and across the road in front him, and down onto the valley below, his horse had thrown him and bolted. He was petrified and wouldn't walk home on his own, My Grandfather who was by all accounts a big strong man had to walk his friend home.

@@Hidden_Realms Me too ;D Ghost stories of black dogs are common in North Wales its called the gwyllgi which translates as "The Dog of Darkness" I dont think this particular instance is related to that, as this ghost was well known to haunt that particular spot, although I cant remember exactly where it was, just that it was one of the roads between Porthmadog and Maentwrog, been trying to find it on Google maps street view but cant remember exactly what the spot looked like, it would probably help if It wasn't the dead of night and I wasn't cowering in the footwell most times we passed it 😂

@@Hidden_Realms you're alright lass, if you are a genuine kind soul then you've nothing to fear from ole Shuck,he only comes for those of insidious intent! I saw the black dog up north in Cumbria when l was 10yrs old and felt no fear. 💐👍

6:00 the dog buried in the cemetery. From what I was lead to believe, in a new graveyard the first thing to be buried is a large dog. And this becomes the "graveyard guardian" keeping the spirits of the deceased that are buried there safe from evil spirits.

I live about 15 minutes from Meon hill. As a teenager in the mid 90s my friends and I camped the night. We knew nothing of the history of the place but it was a horrible night, almost oppressive in atmosphere and the quite distinct feeling that we werent the only things on the hill. I still shudder everytime I drive past it. Ive just found your channel and love it. Subscribed.

I have researched the Shuck for some years. There have been sightings in Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. Whilst seeing the dog is said to be an omen of impending doom, there are also accounts of the beast guiding people to safety when they’d lost their bearings in the then undrained and very perilous Fenland landscape
@Hidden_Realms
26 күн бұрын
Absolutely - I include a couple of stories of the black dog as a helper or protector in the video to reflect this.
@markegerton7764

Yes, I noticed that in the video. I am the author of a book entitled ‘The Haunted History of Huntingdonshire’ and I desperately wanted to document two reported sightings in Huntingdonshire. However, there just wasn’t enough evidence to support them. One involved 2 poachers out at night between Ramsey & Warboys, so understandably they didn’t want it documented. These incidents occurred in the 1950/60’s 🐺
@Hidden_Realms
26 күн бұрын
That's definitely understandable from the poachers! I'm off to look for your book now 📖😊
