+Bill Smith we actually aren't designed to eat animal products. If you research on it, you'll find that a vegan diet is way healthier. A vegan diet doesn't mean just eating veggies. I'm transitioning to veganism and I can eat a lot. I can eat fruit, veggies, grains, soy cheese, tons of plant based milk (I like almond), beans, I still drink coffee, etc. They make tons on vegan options. Vegans eat so much more than just veggies.

We each are only responsible for what we individually do. By avoiding animal products we can set a good example to others and encourage like minded people to follow our example. Because most of those who eat and care little for the welfare of animals do not wish to change, we must allow them their own thoughts until we can demonstrate that we have a credible alternative. Don't ever give up but set the example and keep on keeping on. We may be surprised at the outcome.

Firez75 it's not high and mighty not to do terrible things. you've never murdered or raped anyone, right? do you think you're better than anyone else because you haven't? it's just the bare minimum. sure, meat tastes good, but it's terrible for you, the animals, and the environment. you need to see the bigger picture and have more compassion. there are plenty of things that taste just as good, if not better, that don't involve slitting the throat of a living, sentient being.

The animals eaters love what they do. At a demo recently we had telescreens showing lambs being slaughtered. Some offspring of the animals eaters were actually laughing at it. Be aware that veganism simply reduces suffering (even if significantly) but is does NOT eliminate it. Industrialized agriculture harms many animals and humans. Future practices and actions will need to be taken to have further positive impact, once veganism becomes more widely accepted.

Anna Magombe Humans also wanted freedom, we always have. But freedom is not something that was given to us as a species. We had to fight and conquer it, and it took a while, it's still taking efforts to keep it. So when chickens (to name a species) organize and fight for their freedom, they'll also have the same chance to get it for themselves.
@DocRunaway
9 жыл бұрын
Anna Magombe Ah, I am so familiar with that fallacy. Chickens are like disabled humans. Well, no, they're not. Chickens are like that, that's their nature, that's the rule among them and it hasn't changed over millennia. Disabled people are exceptions, humans with an exceptional problem. Disabled people are not a different species. If we were to take care of chickens the same way we do with disabled people, chickens would have to have medical insurance, and doctors taking care of them. But it's not like that at all. Because, absurd aside, who's paying for that? Not chickens, as they're a species that cannot grasp the concept of work, rights and duties. And having humans work to take care of animals is just an absurd, each species gets the place they deserve according to their natural characteristics.

I see so many people in the comments complaining that everyone should go Vegan...I get what you are saying, animal cruelty is very big in these factory too. However, Stop persectuing those who are ''only'' Vegetarian. Or even those who are only eating meat during the weekend (i know some like this). It means something! It might not be as much as you would like them to, but it proves that they care, even if just a little. We all start somewhere. It's not by dividing Vegetarians and Vegans that we're going to be united against animal cruelty, it's by working together. I am proud of being a Vegetarian, for almost a year now! It was a big step for me and something that I have meant to do for a long time. I dont drink milk, only soy milk. My eggs? I have chickens that I take care of. I eat Meat-free / fake meat, both Vegetarian and Vegan Products. I am starting a foundraiser for the animals in 2016. Do I care less than you because I'm not 100% Vegan? Hell no. It was really hard for me at first to be vegetarian because of my many food allergies. But Mercy for the Animals help me found solutions and I live with those for the moment. Will I go full vegan one day? Maybe! But I am taking one step at a time. On this, I wish everyone a wonderful day! Love you all! :D

I don't know how I feel about these videos any more. I don't believe it's a sin to eat meat. Animals shouldn't be a part of factory farming though, either. I wish there were more traditional farmers out there raising free range pork, beef, and chicken from a pasture. I think there are a lot of people out there who are stuck between a rock and hard place. We want to eat meat but we don't want to contribute to factory farming, yet there are little alternatives. It's sad how our government pigeon holes it's people into making decisions. Smh.

Jackie Dodson "We want to eat meat" - we were all taught to eat meat. It's not exactly a conscious choice in my opinion. You "want to" eat meat because your mother fed you meat and told you it's the right thing. Some cultures eat animal eyes or brains as a delicacy, yet to us it's a repulsive idea. If our parents raised us on plant based diets, do you think we'd crave meat? I dare to say that it would be probably as repulsive.
@jackieshelton3093

+Charlotte Coyle Yes. I get it. Eat "less" meat. I've personally been doing that for a good bit. I would just love to better support my local farmers but I can't because of where I live. It's incredibly difficult to find local farmers markets and whatnot in this area. I am stuck buying meat at chain grocery stores. Ya know? I would just like different alternatives. And to the other poster, I eat meat because I want to. Yes of course I was raised eating meat but I now choose what I put in my mouth and I make the conscious decision to eat meat. Period.

Jackie Dodson The only issue with changing factory farms into small organic grass fed farms is that it is not sustainable. We would not be able to feed the same amount of meat eaters that way without destroying the planet. The best option for the animals, the planet, and for us, is to just leave animal products off our plates. Check out this article and do some research yourself. www.nytimes.com/2012/04/13/opinion/the-myth-of-sustainable-meat.html?_r=0

Jackie Dodson You want to eat meat every day, three times a day and that's not possible or sustainable.. You could do that if you ate meat once or twice a month!.. And even that would not be possible!.. Don't even get started when you are looking at eggs and dairy!.. All these practices relate to a time when population didn't have all the healthy alternatives we have today.. our population is critically sick more than ever before and it's time to change!

Well, I've officially stopped supporting MFA. This support of humane washing is ridiculous and counter productive. Stop telling people to end factory farming, the problem is the use of animals, not how we use them. If people fall short of that and choose so called "humane" products then that's on them, but don't compromise the message and give them public a moral out.

I''ve been kinda getting overwhelmed over this topic lately and I've been really confused about this topic. someone mind wanna answer my questions to get me out of my confusing? first question: Why do people stop eating meat? cause they are eating a killed chicken or because they are killed without living a "life" but lived in a factory second question: "if" we get an end to eating meal then isn't the world going to be over populated with humans & animals? What are we going to do against this? Start killing them again? third question: ye I don't know any more just confused. don't take this to the wrong way, I do eat "meat" but that's cause I don't really enjoy eating vegetables. Hey! If you're interested on learning more about vegansim there's a few really great documentaries explaining the effect animal agriculture has on the planet, our health, and the animals. I would suggest earthlings which can be found by typing 'earthlings' into the KZitem search bar, Cowspiracy which can be found on Netflix, and fork over knives which I believe is on Netflix and is definitely on Hulu. These are only a few that will expose you to the realities of animal agriculture.

Without animals how are we going to get our food cheaply? Vegan food are expensive as hell, and if we're going to eventually get rid of world hunger or get closer to it being very few numbers then we will need factory farms. What should be happening is not getting rid do of them but making them more humane with better conditions.
