The only non Muslim I heard who told how Salahuddin paid the ransom of Crusaders. May Allah guide him to Islam.

Having recently re-watched this movie after a long time, there were some inaccuracies and orientalist tropes, including the classic harem of Arab women ever willing to please white men, but as a whole I think it still holds up as a good movie. The depiction of Salah al-Din and Islam in general is mostly good, and definitely ahead of its time.

As usual super funny, entertaining but yet very informative at the same time. The movie? It is just a movie. Find a teacher like this dude. He tells you the truth.

Read the book "Crusades seen by the Arabs" by Amin Maaluf who is an Arab Christian and present the writings of the Muslim chroniclers on the subject. A great book and the movie is mostly following it. Banyan was a knight and a man of his word and that is Salahaldean allowed him to enter besieged Jerusalem to take his wife out and then when the crusaders asked him to stay and lead them he asked Salahaldean for permission to do so. Well yes, Salahaldean had a style very different then his time and very appropriate for his mission His attitudes that drove mad those around him secured the purity of the liberation of Jerusalem. And yes, the crussaders had the old guard that tried to stay alive and do business with the Muslims versus the new comers that pushed for military solutions. After the death of the young king of Jerusalem this speeded up the inevitable and it shown in the movie.

I love this book. It tallies with the BBC's Monty Python "Crusades" documentary. But the best part about it is it shows how idiotically disunited and quarrelsome the Muslims were(not including the Shiah v Ahlul Sunnah schismatic enmity), right down to a Latin ruler, upon hearing how a Muslim emir had been assassinated by Batiniyas at Friday prayer declared "any nation that slays its own leaders at a house of worship deserves to be destroyed." The more things change...

If the Jews or the Europeans talk about history, do not believe it... Every historical event, even if it was ten thousand years before the Europeans left their continent, they will invent Tarzan who made that event. This applies to the Jews as well.... Because they simply know the fact that whoever owns history, owns the culture and hearts of other nations .. Meditate and judge.

Unfortunate that he keeps saying Arabs. Salahuddin Ayubi was a kurd. And his behaviour was that of a Muslim. And he was fighting on behalf of Muslims. Nothing to do with Arabs at all actually. Why not refer to the Crusaders / Christians based on their ethnicity then? Why say "crusaders" / "Christians" and then "Arabs". It's either crusaders vs Muslims or whatever ethnicity the Crusaders were vs Kurds (Salahuddin Ayubi was a kurd). Also the Arabs in Al Aqsa (influenced by Wahabism) right now betrayed the muslims (Note: Ottomans, not Arabs) and don't even consider Saladin (an Ashari Muslim) nor Ottomans to be Muslims lol.

That's not the point. Woke culture may be poison for society but if there's one thing that may be useful in this mess of a concept is that it may exposes biased people who are trying to rewrite history so that it fits their political agenda. The message they may send is that white people have the monopoly of civilization and other race were always behind as if the whites have some sort of super power that other race lack. "Let's just ignore the passed foreign empire that had better standard of living and power than us, Let's just forget about when the whites were horrible people". White people are normal people, they may do good they may do awful things. As long as people try to lie about that and tries to make white people look like some sort of deity then anyone who loves truth should't -to the minimum-support this stuff in my humble opinion.

@@haledhajdari1154 look,, I see the way he wrote his comment but I want u to imagine how it’s feels like when Muslims have to defend themselves and their faith in every single time they speak with Christians. It’s really frustrating and I think it’s the reason why he wrote he’s comment that way.
