Building a quad now. I've used both beta flight and inav in the past BF for my quads and Inav for my wings just wish beta had a mode that was as stable as inav.

for this to be possible, your drone has to have absolutely zero vibration which is hard. I tried about four months ago, sometimes it worked and other times it didn't work. So it is not something you can rely on. Hard landings will eventually introduce vibration into the frame

Really? I've never bothered with checking for vibes and mine does exactly what he does, I've set up about 3 or 4 on inav the main issue has always been the compass and gps combo. If that isn't setup right you'll get problems like toilet bowling

There's a reason why it's called rescue in BF and RTH in INAV.

Wow thanks, do you suggest a specific FC compatible with Inav and GPS with compass and barometer?
@Repter75

I'm not too familiar with the market, since I mostly use betaflight myself. The drone I used in this video has the SpeedyBee F7v3 with a Flywoo GM10 Pro GPS with compass. The barometer is built into the FC.

I would like to build a quad 5"with inav, where can I find more info and tutorials? Inav is a FC?? Because I always used beta flight
@Repter75
11 ай бұрын
In most cases, you can just flash the firmware on your FC to iNAV instead of Betaflight. To do this, download the iNAV configurator (looks like the betaflight one except it's blue), click on "Firmware Flasher", and flash your FC like you would Betaflight. Afterwards, you'll need to redo all your settings, since they don't transfer over from betaflight.

So I'm getting an m10q gps with compass. And I'm pretty sure the diatone mamba f7 20x20 stack has a barometer right? So could I set this up on my drone or no? Also, I have dji goggles v2. When I connect this gps to my drone will I show number of satellites connected and my coordinates on my goggles HUD?
@Repter75
10 ай бұрын
You should be able to to setup the GPS if you have a spare UART port. After you connect it, you can go to the OSD tab to enable the coordinates in your goggles. This is assuming you have either a DJI O3 air unit or a vista/goggles with WTF.OS on it.

DO you know if I can use iNav with a Nazgul? iflihgt f722 controller. How did you do it?
@Repter75
Жыл бұрын
The Nazgul has the Blitz F722 FC which I believe is compatible. You can install iNav by downloading the iNav configurator (looks just like the betaflight one except blue) and flashing the target from there.

Hi i just wanna know using poshold mode and full thr and full pitch for 2 to 3 seconds after that suddenly let go of the sticks. What will gonna happend? Is it stop quickly or?
@Repter75
3 ай бұрын
In position hold, the throttle controls altitude and the pitch controls forward position. When both are maxed out, it will go up and forward. When you let go of the sticks, the momentum of the quad will still carry it up and forward for a few seconds past where it was supposed to hold position. It then takes a few more seconds for the quad to get back to where you let go of the sticks (eg descend and go back a bit). That's what happens on my quad, I suppose it's possible if you spend the time to tune the position hold pids, you can mitigate some of the forward/backward drift.

I have a 10inch iflight with gps. My experience is i push the sticks up thr and pitch forward and let go, the quad do a toilet bowling like 3 to 5seconds before it goes back to a position where i release the sticks. Can you please help me if it is normal or i need to calibrate the compas mag again?

The drift is environmental, or stick drift?
@Repter75
Жыл бұрын
As far as I can tell, the drift is environmental. Both because of the wind and probably error on the GPS due to the nearby trees. I think at such low altitudes, I need to install an optical flow/lidar sensor (like the Mateksys 3901-L0X) to get better stabilization.

@@RandoManFPV I can't confirm that it works with iNAV (you have to plug it in to see if the flasher accepts it) however, the documentation says that most F7 boards would work, so it's probably okay? No guarantees though. And yeah as of right now, position hold is not supported in Betaflight.

You need to set the compass orientation correctly. There's a tab in the configurator called "Magnetometer" and there you can select from the drop down of "Orientation Presets"
