The "I'm only gay on Tuesdays" is sending me. Reminds me of back when I was in college and I'd be waiting on classes or whatever and anytime I'd be sitting on a bench and see someone else standing nearby waiting for the same thing I am then I would point to the empty seat on the bench beside me and say "Oh you can have a seat. it's okay I only bite on Wednesdays" because I was a weird and dumb college kid and that was my sense of humor. But you better believe that every single time I said this I would see the wheels turning in the person's brain as they tried to remember what day of the week it was to see if it was my Biting Day or not 🤣🤣🤣

I approve of the Dollar Tree - it means you can switch out the bottom when it's old and worn out without creating more waste. And you have a broom, mop, etc with the same pole. Just switch out. Even at 2.50 it's still cheaper than other stores' brooms.

My husband and i moved to a condo with washer and dryer hookups, but he wouldn't buy me a washer and dryer. So, once a week I had to go to the laundromat. I hated it. I did this for about a year. One day a guy started talking to me at the laundromat just small talk nothing else. He was polite and it made time go a little faster. When I got home I told hubby about the guy talking to me. I had a washer and dryer by the next laundry day. 😂

With the 'I cook, you clean' rule, when I cook, I clean along the way. The kitchen is almost completely clean before we even have dinner. When my husband cooks it's like there has been an explosion of utensils, cookware, dirty dishes, food scraps and other stuff. I am not cleaning that if he has it easy after I cook! So, in our house it is, when you cook, you clean. So you have to clean up your own mess.
@kizz5012
Жыл бұрын
Same! My husband was a cook for many years and was used to other people doing the dishes. When I cook, I clean as I go. When he cooked it was also an explosion of dirty dishes filling the sink. I started washing the dishes while he was cooking and giving him the "evil eye" every time he dropped a dish in the sink. He felt so bad about making a mess he started washing the dishes himself as he cooked. Problem solved. 😁

I get the cooking cleaning one. Unfortunately my family is made up of incredibly and ungrateful lazy people who never cook, never clean, but eat the food I make every day, and I'm a pretty good cook, never hear them complain. But last Thanksgiving I finally decided to give myself a break, took off to Vegas for a week without letting them know, and THEY had the audacity to call me the asshole because they weren't able to appropriately celebrate the holiday, they instead had pizza delivered..... Christmas came along, and again I took off on another vacation away from them. Since then, I've gotten stares and cold shoulders. I know what I'll be doing this holiday season again, and it won't be working in the kitchen. 😂

I totally get the vacation on holiday thing, I do it too. I don't even mind the mess. My family insists on me cooking what they want, and in huge portions, and then they won't take any leftovers. My mother insisted I have to make a huge full turkey. I mention getting one of those small young turkeys or a turkey breast, and she gets pissed off. So I just quit having the holiday meals at my house. I either go out of town or make a point of saying what I am having that day. Last year, I made pork wellington with a few sides I like. I made a point of mentioning it beforehand, because of course she was welcome, and I get the side evil eye and a snarky comment about it not being appropriate for the holiday. Her and my sister made a huge meal, expecting a lot of people to come, no one did, and they had to dispose of that food the way I had done before.
@YThates

That's golden. I need to borrow that idea. My family hates being responsible of themselves and cooking for themselves even if I give them written instructions. They won't even make pancakes or eggs n bacon for themselves, they would rather starve to death than make their own food. One of my relatives won't even warm food in the microwave for himself, but if he sees you doing it for yourself he will want you to do it for him too. Grown man. I get so annoyed. Cause I'm not only the cook here but the one who works the most and the breadwinner so if I don't cook for them during my days at work, they are more than happy to ask me for money to order takeout. I stopped being so generous with them a while ago and now I often treat myself out at nice cocktail bars and expensive restaurants. I have some spots too where I know employees so I always get some free stuff and my family is like. "Oh stop spending so much money, you spend too much eating out". I just open my bank app and read transactions they made with my money "Pizza, mcdonalds, burgerking, popeyes, dollar store, pharmacy, netflix subscription, transfering my money to your bank acc, video games, parking tickets, gym membership, etc". I am still learning how to be a better cook cause I'm not great and didn't have a parent who can cook good. But it sucks that I put more effort in and out of home than my grown relatives. I need a holiday vacation too, screw slaving in the kitchen so that their spoiled buts can think they're too good for leftovers for the next 2-3 days.

Even I know to be grateful. I have a sensory problem that makes it extremely hard for me to do dishes, I physically recoil from having to do it, and it does not help I have bad germaphobia against getting things on my hands. I don't have germaphobia in general, just with dirt and grime getting on my hands specifically. So I try and make compromises by offering instead to clean the bathroom with some gloves or vaccum the floor or mop and all sorts of other household errands. I even try my hardest to instead use as *_little_* dishes as I possibly can to not be part of the problem of dishes, I try to make sure none of them are used by me. And then my dad, who ALSO doesn't do the dishes I might add and does not have sensory issues or repulsion to the task, gets mad at ME who has physical reactions to doing it for not doing dishes when he physically is able to. My mom knows it's hard so she understands and does take me up on my compromises. Like, wiping the counters down or cleaning off the table.

The broom handles and broom heads are sold separately so you don’t need to replace the whole thing when it gets worn, it’s less wasteful that way. You can also have multiple heads for different purposes and just one handle, which saves room. I’ve also bought just the poles before for different props and household things I’ve worked on, like putting the pole in the track of my sliding door as extra prevention against someone pushing it open and breaking in, and for the handle of a big mallet I made for a Harley Quinn cosplay.

I was around when naked man was a thing! I’ve since adopted the term because… I had an awkward moment with a really attractive massage client. RMT’s are not meant to see their patients without proper draping with sheets in British Columbia and this guy just went right ahead and started disrobing right in front of me (which actually happens often) so I explained as I always do, that he needs to wait to disrobe but don’t be embarrassed because I don’t mind, I’m just following the standards set out for me. But as I was explaining this to this particular patient, my face was BEET RED. I’m pale af and when I’m blushing, it doesn’t matter how much concealer I’m wearing, I KNOW people can tell and I can FEEL IT. And I wasn’t wearing makeup on this particular day so that made it even more obvious. The session was super awkward because I that know he knows that I think he’s super fine. He keeps coming back to see me in spite of my bumbling idiocy (because I know he knows!!) The receptionist at the clinic is my friend and I require her emotional support as I make an idiot of myself each time, but we call him “naked man” or “shirtless man” because we have to respect patient confidentiality.

She had a birthday party, where she invited everyone in our class except for me, and it was held at a sort-of community house that everyone on their specific block could rent for an evening or a few hours to host certain events, like a birthday party, a small reception after a funeral, etc. Behind that small building was a playground. During the party, I was outside my own house, and a neighbour of mine that was the same age as me came over. I told her about the party and she was furious on my behalf. So what did we do? We went to the playground that was behind the community centre and stole the show from the birthday girl, as everyone at the party opened the windows to say "hi" and such. the thing with the broom and the handle though is that you buy one handle and then various ends, such as the broom, the push broom, the mop head, and then you can use that one single handle for each end piece... it actually kind of makes sense if you live in a small place without any room to store a broom, a mop, sponge mop, etc. it's easier to have a single handle and then you can store the various end pieces on a shelf and it takes up less space.

When my husband and I were dating we had a fight and I didn't hear from him for a week. (Long before cellphones). When I did hear from him I sent myself beautiful flowers with a card that said "I wanted to let you know that I had so much fun with you the other night, thanks for a wonderful time,let's do it again soon, your admirer ". When he came over he saw the flowers and card he wanted to know who it was. Told him that I don't wait around for no man. He was furious! Y'all here's my act of petty. I feel invigorated. I feel joy for the first time in a couple years because of this. I am not a petty person. Sometimes I take joy in other people being petty, but I will always go out of my way to take the high road. NOT THIS TIME. Anyways, it all started a year and a half- 2 years ago. I was just doing my thing, going about my life, when out of nowhere, my friend stopped wanting to hang out with me. She got in a relationship with my cousin, and my cousin and I have always had a pretty tumultuous relationship. I immediately started getting worried, but was just hoping it go back to normal after the honeymoon phase was over. Nope. Everytime she came over, he had to come too. She was not apologetic over this in the slightest even though she knew how badly I wanted to see her by herself. Then, the phone calls started. I started getting calls from friends, my brother, and even my mom, asking about terrible things I supposedly did. Stuff like biblebashing, being homophobic, and being racist. They also included things that actually happened, but twisted it to make me look like the bad guy. Or they exposed secrets about me to my mom before I was ready to tell her. It was always those 2 spreading these lies and secrets about me. Eventually, it started affecting my personal relationships with mutual friends and they started seeing me as a horrible, paranoid person who couldn't accept the truth and only wanted to make THEM look bad. I lost 3 friends during this time period. It all came to a head, when my coworker friend and her (she also worked with me) colluded to take hours away from my schedule TO GIVE TO HER SISTER. I was livid, but completely broken. I actually looked over at my husband's gun, and for the first time, contemplating ending my life. Everything was falling apart in my life. Husband had just lost his job, and it was really hard to keep up with the bills. I was already working 2 jobs, and now they were trying to hurt me more? Thankfully, I didn't, and once I had collected myself, I called our boss. He super pissed. He had no idea what they were doing. He threatened to fire them, but me being the broken sucker I was, I asked him not to. The next day, she said she no longer wanted to be friends with me because I HURT HER SISTER??? Ugh it still makes me mad thinking about it. I told her she almost drove me to kill myself and asked if she wanted that on her conscience. They both quit not long after. The last day he was there, the other coworker friend also said he didn't want to be friends anymore. That was the last straw for me. I had lost everyone in that group. I had 2 friends left and lost 6 in a 1 year period due to their lies and manipulations. I had done everything for them. -I helped her get a job -They got married at my parents vacation home -I convinced my parents to let them rent one of their houses for very low rent I was so hurt. I called my mom and told her EVERYTHING (she knew bits and pieces but not all the bad stuff). She immediately flipped shit and said something along the lines of "Fuck them, they aren't welcome in my home." I started to try to calm her down and go "no, no" but then I stopped myself. What the hell was the point? They hate me. Why should they have any of the things I got for them? Because I'm a good little doormat? No longer. I agreed with my mom. They had been horrible tenants anyway, breaking rules and talking shit about my family. They DESERVED to get kicked out. And because my ex friend quit, they had very little income. Come next month, they will probably be homeless. Don't bite the hand that feeds, folks.

I’m glad you’re still here! Please be careful though, you never know what people without a conscience (like your ex-friend and cousin) are truly capable of. Some people who demonstrate and prove that they are void of humanity will go much further than just spreading verbal lies to torment you. Best to stop all contact with them completely, forever. And if need be, if there is even a hint of them starting to take things further, an order of protection would be wise. So sorry for all you have gone through, but I’m happy for you that you took a stand against them. Don’t ever, even for a second, consider looking back! Anyone lost along the way wasn’t meant to be in your life. You deserve so much better than all of that. 💕

@@Shellyshocked Do it!! So easy to make once you get the hang of it. I recommend getting one of those bamboo rolly mat things. The best tip I heard is it's less 'rolling' and more 'folding'. Basically the first turn you are folding the end over and kinda smushing it down a tiny bit. Then continue rolling from there. Takes a bit of practice but it's pretty easy once you figure it out. Also, don't try to do it with the rice on the outside until you get the technique down, it's so much harder that way and makes a huge sticky mess of rice everywhere. I have other little tips but I didn't want this to be too long. This was the most important so as to not make a mess like I did the first few times. P.s. I usually add cucumber and toasted sesame seeds, it adds to the texture.

When my mom went into an assisted living home, can you guess what I found on every single wall of her house? TAPE. When I was a teenager, I figured out how to use tape on the walls in a way that wouldn’t get totally stuck or get me in trouble. Of course, I had to hide that from her, so she never learned my cool trick. I could never be a landlord because I’m poor but also, because I have vowed never to have to scrape old tape off the walls again! I cook. I clean while cooking... There is nobody in my household, or my family, that values my cookware like I do, stay away from my stuff. I really don't mind doing both, because the look of joy when people eat my food is what makes my day

Oh boy. My husband is the only one in the house who works and pays bills… and he still helps me cook and keep the house clean. Ain’t nothing sexier than a big strong man washing a delicate tea cup. I tell him all the time how sexy and beautiful he is when he helps me take care of our home. Make sure you sex up chores. It do help. Lol!!!

@@melaniereese5226 oh boy. Yeah, start talking about so and so has a man who does yadda yadda and how sexy they are. Or admit you have a secret kink of watching him wash dishes and then not be able to contain yourself. You can teach old dogs new tricks. You just have to know what drives them. Lol

With the tip jars, we did that at Starbucks sometimes. Marvel or DC, cats or dogs, etc. most customers would just be like, “idk, you pick,” for the ones they knew nothing about. They had mixed results, so we only did it for about three weeks.

Describing your parties sounds like so much fun it reminded me of a party I organised it was a Halloween party back in college I had plenty of drink and catered an entire table of food buffet style there was tons I decorated the entire room and made it look awesome even brought a broom stick that moved around the room on its own.. I had a good load of my friends say they were coming and then that evening came and everyone except one person who's parent was going out drinking with mine turned up we watched spooky movies all evening ate food and I have never held a party since 😅
